This is donating to a company that definitely has enough money to fund the production of a watch that isn't very different from its predecessor. Read what you said, they have made over hundreds of millions of dollars off these watches, and they still need your money to make a new one?
Crowdfunding is charity, no matter which way you cut it. You could "crowdfund" 100 dollars to this company and still only be given the
chance to buy one, if it releases. Unless you cough up almost full price for the damn thing you get nothing but a thank you.
