Ferrets are potentially ok but ive never actually met a ferret and so I don't know how they feel energetically. I am sure they would be fun but yeah the smell would be annoying due to mini trailer etc. I was also thinking of getting a chinchilla which are quite possibly the cutest little poofballs in existance, however they tend to be extremely neurotic and I get very antsy when I feel like I am always needed.

I recommend letting the heart mend before getting a new pet. Get some fish or something, maybe a turtle. You could get an emperor scorpion, they have some pretty low dose venom. Something you won't miss if it dies.

Also don't go breaking the law and get a ferret. We have enough invasive pests as is.
