Author Topic: RE: What color is this dress?  (Read 7010 times)

the key thing to note is that it's not perfect white lighting, it's your standard lighting that's got a warmer tint

you would rather believe that somebody took a picture of a dress and started telling everyone that it was blue and black, and photoshopping the dress to make it appear that way, the same way it appears in the store's website, than believe that the lighting in the original photo just makes it look gold and white

i don't know what to tell you dude. this is next level desperation.

I wouldn't "rather believe" anything, I'm just keeping options open to consideration. Trying not to per-emptively make an ill-informed decision.

It's totally plausible that either by intention, or by idiotic mistake, someone took a photo of a dress that generated a somewhat common situation called a accidental optical illusion. Is the dress presented in the source photo the same dress as the one from the store? Is it a different dress? Was the photo manipulated? Was it just a terrible photo with bad saturation and exposure settings? I don't know. It all boils down to: I don't know. And I don't want to fall into false satisfaction when presented with some less than concrete evidence.

EDIT: forget all that, I really don't care that much. The photo of the dress in question appears off-white and dull gold. I do not give a forget what the dress is colored in real life, I do not give a forget where the dress came from, this is my observation of the photo drawn into question.

you know the reason i locked the old thread was that so people that didnt read the rest of the thread wouldn't present old and debunked information

it very clearly has not worked we are at square one again for absolutely no reason

yes!! in the post that you said you read, but very obviously didnt, i showed 2 examples of the original poster confirming that the dress they took a picture of and bought was blue and black.

yeah too bad this thread is about what color the dress is, not what you think it looks like in one picture. better luck next time bucko

What the forget, 5 minutes after seeing the dress white and gold, it's now black and blue

am I the only one who still sees white and gold

am I the only one who still sees white and gold

Kimon I asked what the color of the dress is and I posted the photo of the dress. I want people to be able to express what they see is the color. You are speaking for me, don't do that. :(

am I the only one who still sees white and gold
I haven't seen anything that wasn't light blue/white and gold

Lmao you're so pissed about this. It's cool dude, OP on tumblr asked everyone what color it was.

you are getting really mad about a dress
it's not even the dress, what i'm frustrated at is the lengths that some of these people will go to to cling on to the last remaining shreds of an argument just to oppose someone. like if you got into an argument about apples with someone and they punched you in the head and you got angry, they probably wouldn't say "why are you angry about apples." you're angry about how they behaved in the argument about apples.

why are you asking a question that i answered and acting like i didnt answer it
Lmao you're so pissed about this.
im pissed about your stuffty attitude actually
It's cool dude, OP on tumblr asked everyone what color it was.
no, they stated that their friends could not agree on what the color was so they asked people what they thought it was because it was funny. it's funny because they knew the right answer all along.
kimon be like

boy if you dont get

Kimon is from tumblr, its his job to get overly angry over something as stupid as the color of a dress

Anyway, earlier before i watched a movie it was white-blue, leaning more on white and gold-brown, leaning on gold. Now its black and light blue. Its just an optical illusion because of the lighting and color of the dress, causing users to see either or, not just one.

wow that joke is funny and not driven into the ground - nobody except crusty /b/ users probably

So in the first picture it's obviously light blue/brown because of lighting or whatever but in the others it's darker blue/black
So those who said that it was blue and brown before the other pictures were shown would've been right, and after the people who said blue/black would be right

Now then can we move on
