Author Topic: Is my Kindle Fire HDX 7 bricked/how do I fix it?  (Read 7861 times)

Since the XDA Developers forums hasn't done anything yet guess I'll post it here for some smart people to solve

So recently, I downgraded to 13.3.1.0, and installed Safestrap (not the one for later versions). However, after restarting and adding a ROM slot, it wouldn't let me do anything with stock.

I restored stock, but still nothing.

The odd thing is, whenever I press the power button, it will still make noise. But it's just a black screen on regular start up. Nothing.

I can access fastboot, Safestrap, and the default recovery.

What do I do?

if you can access safestrap then you're probably soft bricked
try to sideload a rom with the eclipse bundle or something

explain because i haven't heard of any of those things
aka i'm dumb

edit: also, if it helps, ADB sideloading doesn't work for some reason
it'll just say it's starting then do absolutely nothing

soft bricked: bricked, but you can restore and you're fine (what you have)
hard bricked: doesn't' even turn on or doesn't show even the oem logo, aka you're forgeted

sideload: where you plug your tablet in and then load a rom from your computer, its under advanced iirc. I believe safestrap has it since TWRP does
I don't know jack stuff about kindle tablets so this will be fun to try to help

yeah, it does have a sideload. actually hold up, gonna nab some shots of what I can work with

here's a thing
apologies about the tilted picture thing, iphone's fault for a unknown reason

...so?
adb sideload is right there, find the rom you need, plug it in, download adb tools and then try to adb sideload it over. What are you trying to do here? Go back to stock?

in the first place, I wanted nexus HDX

also, this is what happens:

goes no further than that

yes and what happens when you try to type adb sideload in the eclipse bundle
just look up eclipse, its really easy

also make sure you did a wipe and have another rom slot selected before this, just as a warning

actually wait forget
what are you trying to do, i hope im not too late

i haven't done anything yet
i was waiting on you

what do you want to do, exactly?

1. get stock back and WORKING
2. root
3. nexus ROM on romslot 1
4. gapps addon for nexus rom

because personally fire os sucks

well what I was trying to do was help you get a custom rom on there. so stock bootloops? Are you sure you flashed over the right rom slot? I don't know much about safestrap sorry
