I continue the ac5 fire and fire off an AAM missile at Shiva

The incoming missile convinces the Shiva that you are the bigger threat, and as it drops flares it turns to face you instead. You are now playing chicken with one of the deadliest alpha strikers in the war.

Faw fires a TAG Beacon missile at the Shiva.

The same flare that dropped the AAM also drops the TAG.

Yes-Man pulls directly up, taking advantage of his aircraft's maneuverability. As it starts stalling, he hits the afterburners -- and then the tubochargers -- not only to strengthen the thrust vectoring, but to maintain his speed. He attempts to do a complete flip onto the bird chasing him.

The Sabre attempts to follow you, its fusion plant more than capable of keeping up with your speed as you climb. However it is unable to match your maneuverability, and you find yourself coming up behind it as you come out of the flip.

The Sabre attempts to drop flares, but it's too late for the first missile. It takes a hit to the front and dives to avoid the second, only to run afoul of the J-20's cannon barrage.

In the meantime, the Kintharians lose a J-20 to the rafales and the Mercanans lose a K-20 to a SAM. The next long-range missile exchange occurs and it seems like the GTO are getting the worst of it.
: [Keep firing! More missiles! The only reason your ship shouldn't be shooting is if you're at the bottom of the ocean!]
: Fanak, Mjolnir, those cruisers are tearing us to pieces out here. The Kintharian flagship for this operation is going under, and a quarter of our ships are too damaged to continue.
: Sir, we're doing our best out here but these Frigates are making life miserable.

Qwepir and I (through assistance from Locke and Taya) have thought about creating some sort of either Steam or Skype group or whatever to allow people to maintain contact for both off-topic and on-topic ABS FIESTA stuff. The use of this is co-ordinating during missions and possibly asking questions about Requilary, individual countries, brief history rundowns, conspiracy theories, and what-have-you. I'm posting this to see how many people are actually interested and would be willing, and if so, whether you would prefer Steam or Skype.

Bell drops a torcreep for FFG-3.

The torcreep slams into the side of the frigate, causing it to list heavily to starboard. Unable to pump out the sudden influx of water, the ship capsizes and goes under the waves. However, you pick up a pair of SAMs from Frigate-4

The Shiva opens fire with its quad LBXs, clipping you in the wing despite you being well out of a normal gun's attack angle.

You get its attention, and it pulls a high-G maneuver to get behind you and Walt.

8:25 PM - locketbox: ok i'll go for the k6 and start small

You drop the fish in the water and it begins swimming towards the small and nimble corvette. The corvette increases speed and changes heading, and the torcreep sails straight past.

The Battleship and some of the rest of the fleet slows down and the torcreep shoots right on through without hitting anything. You also pick up a SAM.

You deliver a crippling blow to the Sabre, but it remains airworthy.

I pop flares, and then fire an ASM at K-10. I bank off, heading for FFG-3

You are clobbered by the SAM, which are and always have been radar-guided, and your missile is shot down by the LAMS emplacement. FFG-4 fires another SAM at you.

I dive down low, leveling off near the water's surface and dropping a torcreep for FFG-2.

The torcreep splits the boat in half and sends it to the bottom. You also receive a pair of SAMs.

: There's our opening! Take down that cruiser!

The remaining K-20s dive in on the cruiser and open up with everything they have. Dozens of rockets and missiles tear the cruiser asunder, sending it below the waves in at least four separate chunks.

The Kintharian ships, seeing this, begin advancing on the Huits in an attempt to bring their railguns to bear.
: Where are you going? Get back in formation!
: [Ah, the children want to have a good old-fashioned gunfight like they've seen in the movies. Number two, get our real gun ready!]
