based off of the F-23 version of the navy advanced tactical fighter

Since nobody's said anything I'll assume the loadouts are all kosher.

Shortly after takeoff, you rendezvous with the Mercanan planes.
: Goodness gracious, you lot don't mess around. I knew we'd be getting air cover, but it looks like you're prepared to do everything yourselves.

"The more fire power avaliable for this the easier it should be, does your flight have any additional data on the area yet?"

Walt tries to get accustomed to the new plane by viewing over the panels another of many times with some sticky notes littered on the dash translating the huit.

Gus stays silent. He checks over the various buttons and panels with approval. A well built plane. In a language I can read, too, for a change.

Tippy looks out her window at her own wings keeping her in the air. While she knew about the swept-forward design being around for a while it was still a strange feeling.

"This is fukin wierd..." she mutters to herself.

"The more fire power avaliable for this the easier it should be, does your flight have any additional data on the area yet?"
: We know nothing more than what our guys shared with yours. Sat-Track showed a little over a dozen ground-based AA emplacements spread among the radar sites, with an airfield farther behind the front. We're supposed to be either quiet or fast about this, or else that airfield might start sending up reinforcements and then we'll be in a whole heap of trouble.

"Then let's be quiet and fast. We'll handle the enemy air defenses while you guys rush in and slam their early warning radar network. Once you unload all your munitions, turn and burn. We'll cover your escape."

Richard takes a moment to stare out the canopy. It's nearly impossible to make out any terrain features.

"Mjolnir flight, lights off, goggles on. Tourist, Tempest, form up on me and fan out in combat spread. We're going to conduct a fighter sweep."

The Sabre goes dark.

"Crash, you're Mjolnir 2nd actual. Focus on handling AAA. Take the others and fly lay-of-the-land until we reach the AO. Razorback flight, I suggest you do the same."

"Roger." Gus smoothly flicks off his lights and rolls over, forming up off to Geary's right.

"Alright, good to know what everyone is aware of."

Walt looks for the light switch on his panel and flips it off.

[I'm at work now until 930EST sorry]

I form up with Gus and Richard.

As you enter the operational area, two contacts appear at long range. They show no signs of having spotted you yet, but are traveling in your direction. Unless the squadron changes course, they may detect Crash, Walt, or Tourist, as they are not using stealth airplanes.

"Two tangos, long range. They're heading straight towards us. Sabre?" Gus looks over at Geary's plane briefly.

I find the light switch and flick it off, switching to night-vision and IR.

"Let's circle around them. No need to start any fights, not yet at least."
