Walter simply returns a misunderstood squint and furrowed brow, unsure if it was directed at him.

"Commander, will COMRO be available during the mission?"

Faw thinks for a second.

"Also, do the Imperial forces around the city have heavy tanks in use?"
: It will, and they do.

Yui responds similarly to Walt, wondering what the hell she meant by that, and feels mildly offended.

"We will be bringing rapid locking and spare countermeasures. Use rapid locking to your advantage as you attack ground targets, it will allow you to attack two targets at once. Plan accordingly," Jaakko says.

Is this everyone who's going, and are these the correct loadouts?

I've got 3 AAMs in hard points 9 to 11. Otherwise it's good.

As you get nearer to the city, you encounter a flight of three cruisers flying in the same direction as you performing a mid-air resupply; a rather precarious procedure in which a cargo plane takes up position ahead of the flying wing and transfers crates of ammunition/food/spare parts/fuel/whatever via what is essentially a very sturdy zipline. The commodore leading the formation contacts your flight and wishes you all luck as you pass them. Ten minutes of flight later, and you have reached the city. An Aesthian cruiser has crashed into the suburbs on the Imperial side of the battlefield, leaving a few thousand feet of ruin in its wake; and a mile to the rear its crash site is a wrecked Imperial destroyer, lying on its side after apparently falling straight down. Another allied airship is slowly circling the battlefield, raining a steady stream of autocannon fire onto Imperial emplacements below.
: Here comes our air cover now. Welcome to Svirask, Mjolnir and friends! You guys got here just in time, AWACS is telling us the Imperials are mustering an attack force right now.
: Crash, Kommandant, I'm going to take my team ahead and harass the Imperials before they can reach the combat zone.
: Understood. Mjolnir, I'm going to have Pansar and Frisk on ground attack, and the rest of us handling the fighters. I assume you're splitting your team as well?

"I'm on ground attack to give Crash there an oppurtunity to catch up on his kill count, If you need me at all I can help in the air given that situation arises."

Back in the roosterpit after more than month of inactivity, Gus absorbs the scenery of Svirask and the surrounding urban sprawl as they approach the city. Miles of urban housing and development, an almost idyllic picture of modern civilisation that would befit some welcome brochure. The harsh bite of winter comes on the tips of every breeze, as evidenced by the shades of yellows, oranges and reds seeping into the trees. Looking down into the outskirts, one could almost forget the war raging such a short distance away - an unfamiliar pang of homesickness strikes Gus as the sound of Aesthian cruisers penetrates the roosterpit. It had been some time since he had last been so near an airship and he is reminded of their immensity as they pass off of the starboard of the rightmost cruiser. Gargantuan constructs of metal hanging in the air - a sight that never seemed to disappoint.

As they fly ever closer to the city, the illusion of peace is broken. An enormous gouge in the seemingly unblemished city leads to a crashed cruiser not unlike the ones they had just passed. Fires and mangled masses of metal spew from holes in the stricken craft, with the front-most portion being fairly obscured in dirt, debris and smoke. To the rear lies a blasted Zent destroyer; the lack of destruction in its wake suggesting it fell directly from where it died. Another friendly airship hovers above them both, firing down into the area with banks upon banks of ground guns. A closer look reveals that the city is pock marked with craters, holes and the sights and sounds of combat.

The sound of Raiden and Djuriskas flight leads reminds Gus of where he is, and he prepares to enter combat once again.

"I'm on ground pounding as well."

"Hawkeye and Walt will be handling ground attack," Jaakko parrots.

"Need I remind you all, this is Aesthia, this is home. We are not in Mercana nor the Delta, they, are, here. Bleed them for every inch of ground they take or retreat, for every minute they stay. We are here to make asses of them, to make this as personal as a punch in the nose, and to make this as costly to with any means we can. Let this be the high water mark of the Fascists,"

"O! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand, Between their loved homes and the war's desolation," Jaakko invokes.

"Major, do you want me to hang back in case one of their fighters gets through?"

"Stand at missile range. They should be preoccupied with us, though. Go ahead and pick up anyone that gets through,"
