Author Topic: What is the driver's exam like?  (Read 1909 times)

I turned 16 today and plan on taking the permits test sometime this week. For those that have taken it, is it just common sense or do you actually need to do some studying?

i would also like to know

if you took driver's education it's a piece of cake

Permit test just read what ever manual you get from the DMV. The actual driving test will be easy if you spend the 6 months practicing.

After that, driving will become boring and expensive, so savour all this nervousness and excitement.

I haven't taken the test but I've done practice exams. Its easy if you study the manual and do the practice exams, learn from mistakes.

Driving is also a piece of cake.

yea, i actually put off getting my driver's license for like 5 months because i was worried about the driving skills test and it turns out all i had to do was parallel park and do some left turns. Kinda scary that's all the test was now that I think about it.
the permit test is pretty much common sense but you should re read all the laws and stuff, I think there was a sign portion too where you have to determine what sign colors and shapes are for what, but I can't remember.

idk the USA one but it was ez for me

parking at the end doesn't count as part of the test

the instructor told me i would've failed if parking counted lol

I was parking my dads car and oh man, if he had seen it he would have gone off I bet. I basically whipped it in because of my lead foot.

it's just like speedkart

you ever play 150cc on mario kart?

Guys, he's talking about the permit test, not the driver's test.

I would suggest studying your state's manual, as others have said. Other than that, you should be ok. Oh, and know your signs, there's a short sign test after the permit test too.

permit test is easy as hell

In Argentina, it's a stupidity. You get a 50-question written exam and you need to drive straight, make turns, a toll simulation, stay under the speed limit in different types of roads and park in the practical exam.

Look for a website that has practice tests on them, usually they are the exact questions on the dmv test.  When I took it at home the first time I failed because you have 20 seconds to answer a question, but the second time I took it at the dmv and you have unlimited time and the questions are easier.
