MP3s are a lossy filetype, so they eventually lose bitrate and kbps over time

wait what. they only lose quality if you convert them from lossless to lossy and not vice versa. mp3 is the super god of audio compression. but it doesnt lose data magically over time...
flac -> mp3. you lost data. but its most of the time useless data
mp3 -> flac. no data gain. same quality as mp3
mp3 -> flac -> mp3. its the same thing through out. i dont think the mp3 compression algorithm forgets up so bad it compresses the previous mp3 file into an even stufftier quality

Look, dude. Here's an example: "Monster" by Skillet. I bought the CD when it first came out in 2009 and it's already degraded to 22500 hz, 40 kbps. That's a huge dip in quality over six years.

Excerpts:

Clip of how it originally sounds (obtained from my FLAC player).
Clip of the degraded sound (obtained from the MP3 player).

Edit: mixed up the MP3/FLAC files. Sorry.

mp3 was designed by the CIA as a self aware audio filetype that self destructs so no evidence gets left behind. when youre playing with mp3 youre playing with Self Delete....

maybe the problem is that you like Skillet in the first place
