attempt to lockpick the door and/or chest
As far as you know it doesn't really work like that but you shove it in there anyways. It gets jammed a bit for a sec but seems to have done nothing after you get it out.

next update will be tomorrow

Do you use a tablet to draw?

This story reminds me of a certain interactive horror comic...

Does that wire have any significance? Is it attached to the ammo box somehow or is it just a plain wire?

i love you for showing this to me

[note: i forgot to mention in the OP that there's a constant low rumbling-ish sound, that of a generator or an engine. also, answering stuff]

i wanted to, but the pen pressure is forgeted and has an odd fix that only lasts for a short while, as well as my hand-eye coordination being kinda stuff. ive been mouse drawing the panels so far but im gonna try doing the character frames in traditional and tracing them to digital from now on, and see if that makes it look any better. i can draw Otela well on paper but it looks so awkward with a mouse.
ive decided while writing this message that i might give firealpaca a shot. if not then i'll go back to pdn and paper.

i admit i was inspired by it. i wanna avoid copying it by all means though - the art may be kinda similar but it'll turn out differently.

next panel coming soon

Then throw the chest at the ammo box.

You pick up the chest, which feels somewhat empty, and hurl it at the crate. After being weakened from the kicks, it cracks a big hole in the chest. You can see the contents inside.
use the not-key as a miniature crowbar and pry open the weakest nail you can find on the ammo crate
The key-like tool seems to be fit for this job. It's probably also a better, less splintery and destructive way of opening it. You set the chest back into it's original place, out of the way.

After tedious nail-prying, the front of the crate comes off. You're not sure what you expected, because it's labeled as exactly what it contains. It's filled to the brim with small magazine boxes. There's also a paper-wrapped cardboard box in the top corner. It has a blank red tag.

You look into the crevice between the wall and crate. It seems to be connected to something outside of the room.
As for the rest of the room, there's an identical crate by the chest, but it's unmarked. The chest has a lock on it as well, and some numbers printed on to it. The entire room has a far-off rumbling sound, probably from a generator. There's not much else to the room you haven't seen already.

You currently have the WEIRD TOOL and FOLDED PAPER. Hell, let's pocket the spare ROPE that was tied to your hands.

attempt to pry open the 2nd crate with the tool.

Confirm gender please.

Idk why but I really really want to know.

Inspect room for any firearm. If there isn't one, then try to break the door to your right.

You start to go at it with the WEIRD TOOL, but then realize it's possible to just pull the cover off.

There had to be one in this crate, but it looks like it was either stolen or not there in the first place. The possibility of it being stolen might explain why the cover was haphazardly slapped back on. The only thing remaining is a thick, key-like object.

You've already decided that you're a girl.

say something out loud, note your choice of clothing, and feel yourself down there just to confirm

Reach down into your nards. If you find a sausage, you're a dude. If you find a fish pocket, you're a girl.
