There doesn't seem to be doors on either side. The lines of containers go down each end. The ship must have some sort of weird series of rooms that are under the deck. There's no way a ship could be this tall and yet so short, and they usually don't store the containers under the deck.
In the direction of the green container, there's a flat wall with some warning stripes and  words you can't make out from here. Towards the red container is a door.

I think I know where we are.
We're on a cargo transportation ship, you are mostlikely far from land. I think it's safer you stay hidden, dont wanna alarm any unsuspecting people. The wall you see is what lowers when the cargo is put on or taken off of the ship, maybe you can escape when they open?

Before you can assess much of the situation, the alarm stops and the ship feels like it hit a big wave. Probably just a wake warning.

At least the gas release sound is slowly stopping. A generator sound resumes, in the direction of the red container.
