If you can it'd be better to just get 8GB (2x4). Mixing and matching shouldn't be that harmful, however I've read around that besides possible compatibility issues mobos will usually default to the higher CAS latency between two different sticks.

Regardless, we need to know the brand of your motherboard.

If you use a program like cpu-z, it'll tell you all your ram specs, then you just buy something that matches that

Also, what anti static band are you buying? I bought one that was complete junk; it had no connectivity between the clip and the wrist, and lots of reviews said the same thing

Yeach, speccy does the same thing. It shows your current ram speed. Since you only have 1 stick it will show the full speed, so, if all is good, it SHOULD say 1600MHz or more
Also for oasis sake, it also shows the motherboard.

brand name can mean a lot you know. I bought this patriot ram for my old computer and it was awful

It's not advised to mix different brands of RAM. If you're planning on using the RAM in addition to what your currently have, it's best to buy the exact same model.

Guys, I contacted acer support and got the specs of the current ram and the motherboard brand
Motherboard brand is AMD, and here's some other stuff Acer threw at me:
 MB KIT TC-120 AMD A78 RTK 8111GS UATX W/O 1394 LF CANT MEET 8.5L CHASSIS.
Supports DDR3 1.5V or DDR3L 1.35V SoDIMMs.
RAM:
Supports DDR3 1.5V or DDR3L 1.35V SoDIMMs.
Supported capacities : 2 GB, 4 GB, 8 GB.
