If extreme harm were to come to me or my loved ones, I honestly don't think I would be content until there was proper recompense, even if that recompense was the culprits life or taking similar injury/loss.

Maybe that makes me a bit psychotic, and I know it's not caring much for sayings like "an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind", but as far as I can imagine, that is how I would feel in that situation.
