Author Topic: Vehicles with tank turrets.  (Read 12735 times)

There is a trick where you can get a tank turret seated as a passenger on vehicle that's not supposed to have one.
Usually this trick amounts to putting an extra turret in a tank, but I took it a step further.

Behold, a jeep where every seat has a turret:

Oh my. You managed to figure out that tank turrets are technically bots and therefor can ride in vehicles. How impressive.

Not topic worthy. You may as well have taken a picture of a single red brick and called it art. The purpose of gallery is to display creations, events, videos, servers, etc. Putting bots in a jeep isn't difficult at all, you literally just need to build a platform over the jeep that will disappear to allow the turrets to fall into place. This is the kind of thing you put in a picture megathread, like this.

Jesus christ man, this is actually quite cool.

Tell me to "chill" all you like, I stand by my post. This topic could have easily have just been a post on a picture megathread. If you are all THIS easily impressed, I'll just start up Blockland and put tank turrets on every vehicle I have downloaded. It'll take me all of half an hour to do the 30~ vehicles I'd have to do. Hell, if you want I'll stack the turrets too.

Gallery should be for creations, story telling, and advertising a server. This topic is none of those. I will gladly comb through gallery and pull up every image of tank turrets mounted to vehicles and put them all on this post if you all think that this is some kind of crazy innovation.

No more red block topics. Not today. Not tomorrow. Not ever.
¡Viva la Revolución!

You don't manage these forums, you wont, and you can't prevent these kind of topics from ever coming up.
Ever.

The gallery does not specifically state that you have to do that however. "Show off your Blockland creations"

Quite the contrary. While Badspot is (to my knowledge anyways) the only administrator, he cannot see or know all that goes on here on the forums. So the forum-members act as his eyes. That's why the report button exists (not to insinuate that I reported this, simply using it for example.) The way I think of it, the forum goers act as a sort of civilian police force. Badspot, then takes the roll of judge and jury. The final verdict, final say and final word.

You're right. I cannot prevent "these kind of topics" from ever coming up. But I can and will try. I cannot play Blockland the way I used to, because of my being at college, and so gallery is the only way that I can still follow Blockland and, in a sense, still enjoy the game. I love seeing the creations people come up with, big and small. Complex and simple.
But not this.

To me, this is a mockery of gallery. Forgive me for my opinion.

A single red brick is not a "creation," in the same sense that putting default bot tank turrets all over the default jeep is not. If you take an art class, given the assignment of painting a "location", you put a single blue dot in the direct center of your canvas, and everyone else in your class paints scenery and beautiful landscapes, then you have failed the assignment by comparison to your peers.

This is not a creation. The definition of creation is the act of bringing something into existence, implying it could not already exist. If you are going to argue that, this did not exist, how do you explain the images that I found, simply by searching "tank turret" in only the gallery?

Sure. His super fancy green jeep and a couple of turrets hasn't been done. But does it need an ENTIRE topic? For that ONE picture? And ONLY the picture? Perhaps if it was an instructional guide on HOW to place turrets on vehicles, or if he made a video of him and some friends richarding around driving and shooting. ANYTHING.

The only reason this topic remains alive is simply because people are so butthurt that I have the nerve to claim this could have just been posted on a megathread. Not a SINGLE post here has given ANY praise to the OP.

lol i used to have fun with this all the time.

good to bring back the memories.

idk whats goin on with this guy above me but he seems to be quite bothered

This trick is awesome to use on Speedkart, especially when the mounted turrets are all different from each other.
