Author Topic: GLAD MY DAD DIDN'T HAVE WORK YESTERDAY (heli accident, 1 dead)  (Read 1650 times)

My dad works at Saint Louis University Hospital as an MRI technologist for the company, Tenet. Well yesterday, on the way to a call, the hospital's helicopter was arriving at the hospital and somehow had an accident. The helicopter fell off the top of the building with the driver still inside and crashed into the TenetCare parking lot where my dad parks when he goes to work. The burning crumpled metal landed on an unoccupied pickup truck. It exploded in an inferno, according to a witness on the news last night, and then continued to repeatedly explode until the fire was put out.

The helicopter operator was killed. The wall of the hospital that the helicopter crashed into contains one of the $100k+ MRI machines that my dad works with. Because the helicopter did not directly impact the wall and rather slid down the side of the building, the concrete was not broken and nothing inside was damaged.

[Obligatory "was the helicopter ok" comment]

dang that's like stuff from movies

you wouldn't think it would happen in real life

My grandfather had that kind of luck in 2001. He still worked as a Naval safety officer and he was scheduled to go to the pentagon on the September 11th, he was stuck in traffic 3 miles away from the pentagon when the plane hit it.

Was the pickup truck ok?
Take that hodot

was the hospital ok
all aboard the bandwagon

was the MRI machine okay
also you're a lucky motherforgeter, XR. lol

Well I guess you could say instead of dodging the bullet that your dad dodged the helicopter.... heh..sorry
But really, it's good that no else got hurt from the accident.

were the explosions ok?

I used to be an MRI technologist until I took a helicopter to my body...I'm going to hell, aren't I?

Lets hope the hospital gets rebuilt quickly and the machine replaced
