It had a good run but sadly my ipod seems to be dead.

It is stuck on the apple logo. It has been on it for about 20 mins now. Lucky for me my b-day is soon so i'm gonna be begging for a new one. Unfortunately for me I will lose all my game progression as well as my main portal to blf.

RIP
16GB 4th gen "stupid" ipod

I think there is a combination of buttons you can use to put it in recovery mode in order to reinstall the OS.

DFU mode but it will eliminate all of its data to reinstall the OS.

i lost mine a few months back

it served me for 4 years :(

Better than staring at the bios screen.

let the battery run all the way down and then plug it in. see if that fixes it. my mom's ipod touch and my ipod nano have both pulled this on me and i fixed it by letting it run dead and then charging it.

And that will murder the battery in the process but it's better than your beautiful new Apple logo wallpaper.

problem being is it has a full charge and i intended on using it before bed

I have a 32gb ipod 4th generation I got from my friend for $20 and a 8 gb I got back in 2012. Both occasionally freeze. If you hold the power buttons it resets the ipod. Works for me when it's frozen

Well that's too bad. Leave it uncharged and check on it in the morning.

He may just want to listen to music Pie crust! I fall asleep listening to my music

Last summer I was on a film set and lost my iPod. I looked everywhere, through my car, my house, back at the set, asked around. Couldn't find it.

5 months pass by and something with my car seatbelt breaks. So I remove the seat from my car to replace the part. There was my ipod, wedged between the seat and the center console, for 5 months.
