Author Topic: Why are EMP generators so expensive?  (Read 1462 times)

You could but I'd save the bug zapper for a tesla coil.

why do you want one anyway

This.

You could probably try to make one yourself.  It'd be easier and less expensive.

Speaking of which, is there any way to direct this into a beam and just point it at devices to make them malfunction, like a cone or something?

Edit:  lol put one of these things in the X-Ray inspector thing at airports so when trying to check everyone's stuff, it just fries it.

More like forever shunned by technical colleges for illegal use of electronic devices.

i think it would be more worthwhile to just buy a taser and use that on electronics

couldn't i just rip the head off of a bug zapper racket and replace it with coiled copper wire for EMP?
No
Bug zappers produce a series of small zaps
You need one large discharge

What would be even better is to get something that forgets with cell and wifi signals.

one reason is that they're spreading their entire electric power into a massive field
reason two is that they usually end up being more destructive than intended

...why does a 13 year old need an EMP anyways lol

Or if that's too powerful, a cattle prod. If you look the part of a farm-boy they might not age check you.

OP wants to take the streets hot pursuit style

Like, they're probably more expensive than they need to be, but I'm pretty sure it's not to avoid people from using them. Like, $100 is a bunch of money, but it's not extremely cost prohibitive. Like, if you're going to do something nefarious with an EMP generator, $100 isn't really going to stop you.
