it's not what I want to do

it's not what you want to do

it's what he wants to do, because that's what makes him happy.

get your head out of your ass: it's an uncomfortable position to be in on a high horse.
I was not being sarcastic!
I was also not talking to OP and that he had to change, I was talking to the duder I quoted because I think his view is wrong and I was attempting to change that.
These are opinions, not facts, you should know that because this is the internet!

Edit:
Also you think I'm on a highhorse, haha totally am! A highhorse in the loving mariana trench.

But I wasn't pretending to change Electrk's view. I was actually attempting it. I was just stating that.
How is this image relevant, are you OK?
Maybe you looked over the word in bold, perhaps?

are you clinically stupid

are you clinically stupid
I must be because I have no idea what you're being a memer about!

Really, a piece of paper? is that really what it is, though? blah blah blah...

Look, mate: there are more paths in life than going to college. It may not be what you would want but it's not your life. If he is living a good life already, wasting money on a diploma is not gonna help; it'll probably make it worse, actually. If you want to go to college, that's fine, but this is the life he's chosen. I don't understand what's "stupid" about living life the way you want to.

As Reson said, get off your high horse.

Can I repeat that I was not taking OP in perspective at all and was replying to just Electrk, like I already stated?
Also am I really on a highhorse for sharing my opinion and views?

I don't like highhorses, and if I am on one right now, let me solve that real quick with a joint, a FoB song and a knife to my arm oh boy. >>

yes because you were shaming him for not going to college then talked about how awesome you are for going to college

youre doing an awfully bad job at it, friend.

depends on your definition of "enjoy"
cracking jokes about my own struggle no?

Really, a piece of paper?
I promise you, the game design diploma is the most worthless piece of paper on the entire planet. Nobody in the Game Design industry will care. They want to see your experience and the games you've made, not your diploma.

I went to college for the contacts and the work experience, not the piece of paper.

You can promise me everything in the world, but your education is not the same as mine in The Netherlands.
We either, have to develop a very popular game, or we have to have HBO education in this chart.
Which can turn out difficult, since the American school system is VMBO on that list.
So far an American to do this, they'd have to go from either VMBO to Havo, which will cost them 2 extra years, adding up to them finishing HBO at 23, or going from MBO to HBO, racking a total 24 years of education. And that is without a Master, too.

So you either do that, or be lucky and develop a popular indie game.
Do you get it why this is not a piece of paper? And trust me, I've looked at that Job Market for game development. Every. Single. One. Asks for HBO, some are so feisty they require it even if you made a popular game.

folie i'm pretty sure you were banned last time for acting like this
worry about your own life, don't try to butt into others
if OP's brother wants his life to be like that, so be it

im not talking about OP
3rd time saying this

im saying why a diploma isn't just a piece of paper
