I promise you, the game design diploma is the most worthless piece of paper on the entire planet. Nobody in the Game Design industry will care. They want to see your experience and the games you've made, not your diploma.
I went to college for the contacts and the work experience, not the piece of paper.
You can promise me everything in the world, but your education is not the same as mine in The Netherlands.
We either, have to develop a very popular game, or we have to have HBO education in this chart.
Which can turn out difficult, since the American school system is VMBO on that list.
So far an American to do this, they'd have to go from either VMBO to Havo, which will cost them 2 extra years, adding up to them finishing HBO at 23, or going from MBO to HBO, racking a total 24 years of education. And that is without a Master, too.
So you either do that, or be lucky and develop a popular indie game.
Do you get it why this is not a piece of paper? And trust me, I've looked at that Job Market for game development. Every. Single. One. Asks for HBO, some are so feisty they require it even if you made a popular game.
