Open up the case and make sure all the cables are in correctly, a cable could just be loose

I don't think it would be this, as it works up to a point.

A cable that's a bit loose can be connected sometimes, then when a tiny little vibration or something shakes it even just a little bit then it disconnects. Just check anyways to be sure

Check the BIOS, possibly even reset it. A BIOS reset can fix a lot of things.

After chkdsk has done it's thing I'l try nudging or moving the computer and see if it dies
and if I come to no solution after everything everyone's suggested I'l try opening it up and making sure it's plugged in

Speaking of, chkdsk just finished and it exited itself, what did that do?

k I looked it up and apparently chkdsk fixes stuff SO
I'm going to attempt to render and hope it doesn't die

make sure to backup if you need to

yeah it dissapeared again
time to dig in
(make sure it's plugged in)

I'm pretty sure it won't break, and still, I don't have anything extremely importent on there, the drive's only used for storing footage

haha this happened to me. suddenly my hard drive failed and i had no idea why, so i (solemnly) went to go remove the dead drive when i noticed that somehow it became unplugged. plugged it in and on that day i did not lose 1 TB of memory

So, I pulled out and back in the plugs and it now works
Thanks for the help!
