Author Topic: Questions about Red Guy's Unlimited Mining  (Read 2942 times)

I recently downloaded Red Guy's Unlimited Mining from the RTB archive here.

I noticed a few things that were different from the server I remember playing on a few years back.

  • Undiscovered ore does not exist.
  • Dormant bombs cause you to lose money when activated, even creating a negative value.
  • Lotto blocks do not give ore value buffs above 2.
  • The server constantly displays the brick count in the chat sometimes.
  • Drills do not require dirt, and can be run at no cost.
  • Players do not take damage from guns.

Please post any information you have that may help with these problems on this topic.

that's a really old mod iirc
old mods tend to have a lot of bugs, but you should try it with no add-ons but unlimited mining on and post your console.log

Belongs in Help.
This and:
  • Undiscovered ore does not exist.
    • This has always been true, as it is a way to preserve the brickcount.
  • Dormant bombs cause you to lose money when activated, even creating a negative value.
    • This is a bug.
  • Lotto blocks do not give ore value buffs above 2.
    • This may just be you being picky.  Even if the buff is 1.6, you're still getting 60% more than normal.
  • The server constantly displays the brick count in the chat sometimes.
    • It has always done that.
  • Drills do not require dirt, and can be run at no cost.
    • I am not sure what this is about.  Pretty sure that drills were meant to do this?
  • Players do not take damage from guns.
    • Did you enable a minigame?

Its also very possible that Red Guy has made changes to the add-on since he released it. Because that add-on is in an archive, it could very well be several years old. On top of that, he may just have not released the version he is using now because it is unique to the server.

  • Undiscovered ore does not exist.

This has always been true, as it is a way to preserve the brickcount.
The way you said it is very vague, unless you are meaning something else - how does undiscovered ore even remotely affect brickcount, which increases either way by all means of digging.
  • Lotto blocks do not give ore value buffs above 2.

This may just be you being picky.  Even if the buff is 1.6, you're still getting 60% more than normal.
60% more than normal for a random block that is rare and can also give debuffs is not acceptable. I recall having major increases from lotto blocks back for when I actually played.
  • Drills do not require dirt, and can be run at no cost.

I am not sure what this is about.  Pretty sure that drills were meant to do this?
Drills required dirt to run. That's as forward as it gets.

So, leet:
First off, undiscovered ores do not exist, until you discover them. That's simply how the game works, it's intentional. If you don't like it, go ahead and try to find Red_Guy (Which I seriously doubt you can do)
Second, I'm 100% certain that lotto blocks gave you bigger buffs the further down you went. Them not giving buffs above 2 seems perfectly normal for around ground level. There are even "Ruins" that you can go to with lotto blocks that have the potential to double the current buff every time.

Did you enable a minigame?
  • Players do not take damage from guns.
When a minigame is enabled, it is not possible to mine blocks, even if the player starts with the pickaxe tool.

This has always been true, as it is a way to preserve the brickcount.
  • Undiscovered ore does not exist.
I'm not sure I understand. The block that allows a player to name a new ore does not exist. It is not in the script accessed by /editore and after multiple days of running my server nobody has found any of it.

Does anyone know if there is a solution to the dormant bomb bug, and the drills not using dirt?

he either means how minerals don't spawn unless the area has been mined out, or the minerals that players could name are not spawning

Pretty sure it's the latter.

The way OP put it is that Lotto bricks never give more than 2x times. It's neither of our faults if that's still the case that OP miscommunicated then.

Also you are still losing me with brickcount. Everytime you mine a block others  spawn. The idea that an undiscovered ore being there is the same as having a block there in the first place. The hell are you talking about.

What is the correct colorset?

I'm 99% sure he's talking about player-discovered ores, which don't exist until the player discovers them (Which is by random chance, if two getRandom calls are equal to a specific number then it creates a new ore for them)

I meant to say that lotto bricks never give a buff more, or less than 2.
Never 1.6x or anything like that, just 2, it never gives anything that is more, or less than 2.

Also, the required colorset for unlimited mining is Trueno's colorset, found here:

I'm 99% sure he's talking about player-discovered ores

I am talking about the block that makes a message pop up that tells the player that he has discovered a new ore, and then allows the player to type a name for it. It doesn't exist.

This means that there cannot be any player discovered ores on the server.
My server can only get new ores when I add them via the /editore menu.
