If you mean make sure it's a PNG then yes. It is a PNG picture/file.

Upload a PNG, JPG, or GIF image at 75x75 resolution. It probably wont appear to you immediately, but it will after awhile-- pressing F5 makes it appear instantly in most browsers.

Next time, use a .PNG optimizer like this: https://tinypng.com/
It reduces the file size without making the quality lower!
Oh, and one last thing, like Hawt said, all avatars are 75x75 :)
