Author Topic: What makes you flinch/but only in certain conditions?  (Read 3617 times)

For instance, when someone mentions the word blood nearby, I flinch, but I see my blood all the time because of getting my sugar readings.
When I see someone give themselves an injection or are given by another, I have the same reaction of flinching, but I'm giving myself injections on a regular basis. Diabetes related of course, type 1 if you're curious.

Surprise bugs are another, ick

Was curious if anyone else had these moments

when I eat bananas I flinch
but only if it's the whole, actual banana, not just a slice

when im thinking and someone snaps me out of it i jump out of my loving skin

or anything having to do with breaking your legs backwards

Just wondering, what were your early symptoms that led you to get diagnosed?

I was abused as a child so if anybody pretends to throw a punch at me, I flinch.

Just kidding. Im just a pusillanimous individual.

spontaneous loud noises and a fake punch
when brickitect fake punches me i real punch him cause he's a DORK

I could go on all day about it but here's the shortened version: Was wetting the bed, parents thought I had the flu, possibly some other stuff and then I was taken to the ER as soon as possible. Turned out my blood sugar levels hit 1000+, couldn't give you an exact number as I was told the staff didn't have powerful enough blood meters. I don't actually know what happened since I lost my memory during the entire ordeal.

that wasn't fun at such a young age. also hit my 10th year of having diabetes on march 13-14th :P

Any other symptoms beforehand that, afterwards, you attributed to having diabetes?

Don't recall anything other than that unfortunately. It's a hard subject to talk about with my parents so I usually don't hence why I know very little. I could PM you all the details I know if you'd like, but that pretty much sums it all up.
