Honestly, I'm starting to suspect Chrome and various extensions associated with it.

On a perhaps unrelated note, Chrome is literally taking up 10% of my memory at this very moment.

are you holding the windows key or something?
I didn't read the thread, maybe its a keyboard issue

No, lol.

If you really hate how much memory chrome uses (Like I did) you can switch to Waterfox, which is a pretty good replacement and even has a chrome theme

me too to be honest

I like chrome and all, but extensions just obliterate it

but the reason why it takes up memory compared to other browsers is because it has an individual task for every tab, while other browsers use a single task for multiple tabs.

I might at this point. Does Waterfox sync like Chrome does between computers?

Yeh, it has a sync system similar to Chrome's. It's a bit more finicky, but it works as intended.

Downloading it now. If anything I may keep schooling and stuff through Chrome and use WaterFox as my background browser when playing stuff.

Edit: Feels slower.

Edit2: Opening new pages is definitely a lot slower. The actual experience once you get onto a page on the other hand is amazing. Typing this message even feels better for some reason, don't know if its a real reason or placebo effect.

Probably just because you don't have the pages cached yet, I compared chrome to Waterfox for opening up BLF pages and I couldn't find any real difference

That's probably it. Honestly though, the scrolling feels nicer, which isn't a lot, but when web browsing, actually seems to make a difference. It's less jerky than it was on Chrome. I'm also noticing significant memory usage decreases, which is nice. :P

If it was Chrome doing the weird switching thing, Waterfox may be the way to go, but I guess we still don't know for sure what is causing the switching.\

Edit: Can't seem to use gmail... I'll probably figure it out though.

If you have iFunbox, disable it from running on startup, because it creates an invisible button on the top layer that minimizes all of the windows, but does nothing on click.

Sometimes CCleaner has a little popup saying "You can save X megabytes of space!" so that might be it

Don't have CCleaner. :P

I've never noticed any pop-ups or windows that would facilitate switching tasks, it just seems to do it almost randomly.
