you have a cheap PSU, so i can see why you do. I guess I got lucky with my tr2 when I had it, because it worked fine for 3+ years

I used to shut it down every night but I stopped because it took too long to boot up. I just sleep/hibernate it instead, pretty much same thing without the startup times. Lets you leave stuff open to resume it as well, and doesn't use as much power.

booting mine up takes only as much time as waking it from hibernating
but I still do that, because I like the same programs being open

my sister's computer has been on for probably a year straight now without being shut off, it is (somehow) still working fine without any extra stress.
you'll be fine leaving it on overnight.

As long as your parents are okay with that much energy being used, then sure.
My brother's old computer used to accidentally be left on and it was completely fine. Like yeah itnwould go into sleep mode, but still.

You'll be fine but you'll be using a lot more power, so ask your parents first

lol i never turn my comp off. i restart it once a week for updates or something sometimes.

gaming laptop
That is the problem laptops are NEVER meant to be on for hours and hours on end. Desktops can do it just fine from better cooling

Remove all humidity from your freezer, put lappy in the freezer. boom.

I don't recommend leaving laptops on 24/7
Desktops on the other hand are just fine.

a laptop can be left on if the screen isnt always on. my laptop had a screen off button (not sleep, sleep is for friends)

but running a game for 24 hours would be a bad idea.

I fear fire.
there is just as much risk of fire at night than there is in the day

yeah, it's alright

i would turn it off at night though, don't want your eletricity bill jumping up

any computer can run 24/7. its not 1994 any more, we dont have to worry about parts "burning out" from use. that is a facade of the old days.

but laptops depend on usually that 1 really stuffty fan and combined heatsink.
and to heat up a laptop for to long forces the fan to run on high. wearing out the fan (easily replaceable) or cycling through more dust then is necessary.

its mostly because all laptop cooling designs are complete stuff. not because they are computers and any logic is with that.
