Get a Remington 870, nothing is scarier than staring down the barrel of a pump-action shotgun.

all u need to do is lift some weights and you got two SICK GUNS for free

If you don't live in California, get this

this

I'd go for the .45 ACP revolver as revolvers are better for home defense: No jamming, easy to clean, and they have the added intimidation value over a semi-automatic.

Go for the Auto-5. You'd be surprised how handy it is own a reliable shotgun assuming you don't live in the middle of the city lol

Colt single action army in .45 or one of its variants.

something actually legal

all that is mentioned in OP is perfectly legal

get a mosin and build an obrez. i'll guarantee you wont find a cheaper close quarters weapon that is reliable and a firearm.

please don't slaughter a rifle like that

the mosin is one of the most widely produced bargain bin military rifles in the world. you can buy one for like $100 if you put the effort into searching gunshops and gunshows. assuming it's another standard issue round reciever gun the soviets built in ww2, it was sometimes maintained by pissing down the barrel... not kidding.
