I assume you mean a 1x1x6 brick from the Brick Menu. To select brick beyond what is in the default bar, press "B" and double click what you'd like to add to bar. Most of this should be explained in the tutorial.

oh you mean a vertical 1x6
i don't think anyone has made one?
correct me if i'm wrong tho i don't build very often
