Author Topic: Been dealing with broken sleep  (Read 1220 times)

I'm sure this is an issue for just about everybody at one time or another, but I've been having issues with sleeping. For the past several weeks, I have not once slept through an entire night. Last night, I woke up at least once every hour (went to bed around 10:30pm, got up at 6:25am), sometimes more, which is the worst night I've had so far.

I've seriously packed up and moved out of my bedroom into the guest bed (bigger bed, darker room, and more comfortable) in my house, but it doesn't seem to be helping much. Over the weekend, my parents and sisters were gone so I spent a couple hours during the day trying to catch up, which more or less worked. I don't feel tired right now but I know I will later.

Just thought I'd say something since I'm assuming this is a common issue.

how do you lay in bed
do you lay with another
thick or thin pillow? mattress fine?
how are you feeling lately? anything wrong happening?

Find someone or something to cuddle with, that always helps my restless nights.

buy a body pillow of your waifu

ive always had this problem too

its kinda annoying

like a pillow pet?

avoid caffeine if you aren't already

Happens to everyone. It's the worst, especially when you have to do something important next day.

Read a book untill you are tired as forget, then go asleep.
problem solved (atleast that works with me)

1. I lie on my sides for the most part.
2. I'm by myself.
3. Several pillows of varying size and texture, mattress is godlike compared to my regular bed.
4. Depends, some of it I can't tell if it's from poor sleep or something else (irritability, occasional chronic abdominal discomfort, etc), and none of which have been regularly bothering me.

Caffeine isn't usually a problem for me, but even then I haven't been on it much.

Tried music at low volume last night, but it didn't work so I turned it off.

the way i get to sleep is doing something mindless in bed, such as watching youtube videos.

Short wavelength blue strains of light, commonly emitted only by screens, mess up the production of melatonin which is responsible for making you fall asleep. At least one our before sleep do something like read a book or better yet, do a little exercise and you'll soon find yourself falling asleep almost instantly and forming a healthy sleeping pattern which boosts your everyday life.

I personally prefer red, it's easiest on the eyes

and I've found that the only way I can sleep is to pretty much pass out from lack of sleep

Purely avoiding blue environments does little to help the issue. There are applications, one of them being called 'Twilight' (har har, yea yea) that block the specific type of light making your screen look like a sepia filter. I remain skeptical of such things.
