good job you just killed OP

edit: if you don't want to be a perfectionist, it's gonna be a long and annoying process of learning that messing up is okay. Major lifestyle changes generally take a lot of time and effort to do.

For a serious answer: if it takes me 2 minutes to complete, then perfectionism usually doesn't apply.

    i suffwr from 6/8 of a perfectionisnm

Same. If anything, it might help to know you're at least not alone. A lot of people tend to misunderstand what perfectionism truly is. Rather, its various forms, where the more common kind tends to be more harmful. The kind that basically keeps you from doing anything unless you can do it perfectly. The kind where if you're convinced you can't make it amazing, it's not worth making it at all. The kind where anything that has any kind of process is made to seem less worth it. The kind that makes you less inclined to ask for a helping hand because you believe if you can't do it yourself, you don't deserve the help.

I've found it takes more of a brute forcing out of the mentality than anything, to convince yourself that anything less than 100% is perfectly fine.

I found this article a while ago. It's not an instant quick fix for all of your problems, but the three parts might be worth a read.

lets make something perfect together :cookie:

it can be a problem of confidence, in which case the best thing is to probably push through it the best way you can think of

it could also be a problem of expectation, in which case it might be more productive

ofc a lack of confidence can also come from a failure of expectation so w/e dad

I have so much goddamn confidence, you can say I'm overconfident in myself.

The thing with success is that it takes a lot of failure, but perfectionism makes it impossible to allow myself to fail. Paradoxically, perfectionism prevents perfection.

no if somethings perfect I won't go near it and destroy it so I half ass everything

no if somethings perfect I won't go near it and destroy it so I half ass everything
    Remember that two half-asses make a whole-ass.
