The UK ventures out and attempts to establish a trading center east (on the main continent).

snip

As dawn approaches, Kyrevan infantry fall back and dig in, taking cover behind fallen trees, fences, farmhouses, craters, whatever they can find. They form a strong line on the base of Kyrev's hill, just a little ways up the hill itself, while they wait for more men. The center's cavalry divisions, still hidden in their positions, spoil for a fight while waiting for the natives to push into the unprotected field. The cavalry sent to the other hostile hill are at least partially successful in their charge and have mostly stopped the firing of the howitzers. They fall back to the infantry line facing this south hill, which is adjacent to the other Kyrevan line. Kyrevan artillery, bolstered by the arrival of the rest of the pieces, resume bombardment of both enemy hills.

Secretly, a portion of infantry numbering around 5,000, along with 1,000 cavalry move north and across a river during the firefight in the night, sneaking across the valley and hiding in the heavy forest and brush of a hill a ways north of the primary enemy hill.

Units within the Crusader campaign enter a ceasefire following Obalei. Peace is further pursued, however they make sure to fortify encampments in case it's a trap.

The UEK will not return captured land under any circumstances.

My only complaint is that the thread's timescale has made it so that the battle currently going on has lasted about a year. Wars should be fought via a strategic point of view.

He probably has some work to do, hard to do it around the clock

The Obalei offer peace terms to the UEK and all belligerent forces pinned against it.

  • The two nations are to be in a lasting peace for a period of 50 years.  At the end of this term, the treaty is to be revisited, and applied for renewal.
    • During the revisitation period, the terms of the agreement are still in effect.
  • The two nations are to not post any military forces within 10 miles of each other's borders.
  • Expansion of either borders along the contour of either's borders in excess of 100 miles of contact must reach the mutual agreement of both sides.
  • No military personnel are to be permitted in each others' territory, even when off-duty.  This clause to be revised only by the two signatories' mutual agreement.
  • Civilians traveling between nations are hereby required to carry proper documentation and passports.  This clause to be revised only by the two signatories' mutual agreement.
  • Any sacred objects such as gravepieces, religious objects, ceremonial pieces, etc. are to be returned to the Obalei.

The Tacza artillery begin to fire chains at the howitzers on the Kyrevan hill, managing to mangle some of them up, or harm or kill any soldiers operating them.  The Tacza forces notice the Kyrevan forces taking cover and send in an order to send more howitzers, a force that will arrive in two days.  In the mean time, they attempt to engage them from the north, south, and center, hoping to get more angles on them, and taking advantage of environmental cover.

Meanwhile, a Noaste force of 6,000 and 500 cavalry marching northward to reinforce the Tacza force from the North meets the hidden Kyrevan force in the forest, and begin to engage them after a few of the Kyrevan sharpshooters heard them coming, and shot at the vanguard forces, killing 30 of them before they could react.

At sea, many ships begin to draw inward towards the Kyrevan navy.  After a dozen ships become visible, a thick fog rises out of the ocean.  It is unclear whether the Noaste Navy has chosen to continue their approach.

For now, let's just make this bit a day-to-day- kind of thing.  When the wars end, it will resume normal timescale.

This is true.

1: sure
1.5: well yeah
2: the UEK would like to post minimal amounts of scouts within a mile of the border
3: of course
4: of course
5: sure
6: we were going to burn them anyway so sure

Another 2/5 of the country's Soldats, along with 3/5 of the country's conscripts, bolstered by all Topsmen and 300 Counts head east to help their ally crush the new barbarian alliance. This is now known as the Prophet's Campaign.

what happened to this campaign, by the way? especially now that i'm going to bolster it with the forces from the crusade campaign? i'm also sending an extra ~300 thousand conscripts to bolster, bringing my number of conscripts on the eastern front to about 3.1 million out of the 3.5 million i have

As artillery pieces from the west hit the eastern front, all belligerent forces advance, taking advantage of the enemy's focus on the UEK's ally, Kyrev.

this is what we call a red army zerg rush through poorly defended territory

The Tacza artillery begin to fire chains at the howitzers on the Kyrevan hill, managing to mangle some of them up, or harm or kill any soldiers operating them.  The Tacza forces notice the Kyrevan forces taking cover and send in an order to send more howitzers, a force that will arrive in two days.  In the mean time, they attempt to engage them from the north, south, and center, hoping to get more angles on them, and taking advantage of environmental cover.

At sea, many ships begin to draw inward towards the Kyrevan navy.  After a dozen ships become visible, a thick fog rises out of the ocean.  It is unclear whether the Noaste Navy has chosen to continue their approach.

(Please note that my entire military's artillery division, a little more than 1,000 pieces if each piece has 7 men, is sitting on my hill.)

The Kyrevan hill responds by returning fire with a portion of batteries at the opposing Tacza hill. The river in the north runs west and then bends north, mostly protecting the Kyrevan flank there, but the southern flank is exposed. Additional units are committed there to help stop the Tacza advance.

The hidden Kyrevan force in the forest spreads out to combat the Noaste force, splitting into small groups and popping in and out of the heavy brush and forest, making it appear as though they were a much larger force than they actually are. The cavalry are largely useless, dismounting their horses and hiding. Kyrevan men in the forest and on the hill are ordered to eliminate any Noaste messengers.

The Kyrevan Royal Navy elects to continue as they have a very strong force of ships of the line.

1: sure
okay

okay

okay, so long as the Obalei can do so as well.  Is 10 scouts per square mile acceptable?
3: of course
okay
4: of course
okay
5: sure
okay
6: we were going to burn them anyway so sure
OOC:  Note that if UEK is as it says "Extremely Christian", burning religious objects of another Christian nation would be quite the serious offense.  But thanks.

I'll post about it in a bit.  To be honest, I completely forgot to address it.  I am sorry.

Will address later.

   NO EDIT

(Please note that my entire military's artillery division, a little more than 1,000 pieces if each piece has 7 men, is sitting on my hill.)
Will note.

The river in the north runs west and then bends north, mostly protecting the Kyrevan flank there, but the southern flank is exposed. Additional units are committed there to help stop the Tacza advance.
Kyrevian intelligence reports back to the hills that indicates that a large force of 45,000 split into five divisions is headed towards their location.

Kyrevian sharpshooters mark one messenger and shoot him.  They find that he was carrying a piece of paper with encrypted information.

The Kyrevan Royal Navy elects to continue as they have a very strong force of ships of the line.
The fog continues for a long amount of time, even through the following day and night.  The silence and fog are dubbed as a "Curse of Ghosts" by a first mate of a Kyrevian captain.

1 (3): deal
2 (6): OOC: as an extremely christian nation it is perfectly normal for priests to bullstuff and say the enemy is bootleg christian and not actually the same religion

snip

Kyrevan infantry, who have twice the strength of the approaching force, are confident in their raised position. Several artillery pieces are brought down and loaded with grapeshot. A significant portion of the Kyrevan artillery begin firing on the approaching groups.

The encrypted paper is taken to Kyrevan Field HQ to be deciphered.

The Kyrevan Royal Navy stays its course and keeps its eyes open for the enemy and land.

Naval vessels and merchant vessels meet up on the western-most tip. Here they meet a friendly naval tribe (sort of a semi-Pacific Islander/Native American ethnicity) named Kia'walkolai. Words of another tribe, Ni'awali, a good friend of Kia'walkolai, is rumored to be father east. Contact will be sent soon to establish further trade in the region.

Merchants eagerly suggest that the chief allows the UK to set up a trading post.

Time to come back out of retirement...
