It's not really that.  I'm more or less referring to thousands of years of a autocratic and aristocratic status quo.  A republic would already be very radical.  While the concepts surrounding socialist systems began as early as the publishing of Utopia in the sixteenth century by scholars in Europe, however, to those in power, this would be seen as dangerous to their rule and their legacy, so therefore it seems unlikely that socialism would be even a prominent idea at this time.

and yet there are planned economies in the rp right now.

Make sure you indicate or mention where you want to be on the map.  Steve, how much of a buffer zone do you want between Vlast and Astura?

Also yes, Mr. Hurricane, that is precisely what I am trying to address.

I'm still waiting on Vlast's borders to expand too. Vlast has laid claim to the lands the border the UEK and Obalei. That's not to say it settles all of them, but Vlast wants them.

They've also laid claim to the island to the south as well.

I assumed that that was more of a period accurate state monopolies and charters type of thing than a communism/socialism type thing.  Just my two cents.

Also SteveJenkins, if you could point out whereabouts you want to be on the map it'd make SWAT's life a bit easier.

Work on Telar's naval outpost reaches completion, and Parliament authorizes the construction of a shipyards and fort there, as well as the training of troops and building of ships of the line to be garrisoned there permanently.

Parliament lowers the national export tax to almost nothing to encourage Teleri manufacturers to enter into international markets.  The compensate for any loss of government income, the head tax on all males over the age of 21 is slightly increased.

Kyrev sends a fleet of private exploration ships east to map the Chevian Sea and look for any land. Noastadt dockyards are expanded and improved upon.

König Lothair I also orders a reorganization of the military, incorporating two new units, the Taczowa Sharpshooters and the Noastadt Marines, two elite fighting forces formed from the newly incorporated lands of Noastadt and Taczowa. Service is voluntary, and soldiers in either force are considered to be high in social status, with their skill level being equal or greater than that of Kyrevan Grenadiers.

Additionally, König Lothair I agrees to set up a minor governing body for the middle class, known as the Arbeiter Parlament, who help pass laws as the lower house to the Senate.

Through foreign observation and domestic influences, a proposal comes to the Duma and the Prime Minister to expand upon Vlast's land military power. Speaking of which, the Homeland Protection Act passes.

The proposal will allow for there to be up to 200,000 new troops. Various weapon's contractors are listed, as well as textile mills for uniforms, et cetera. The downside is that the expansion of the military would bring higher taxes. To counter this, some domestic goods are taxed by sales tax.

A second Prime Minister candidate has started on the campaign trail, Milan Koval, a prominent capitalist who owns a rather large textile mill. As far as public opinion goes, it's rather split.

An exploration fleet is loaded up with spices and relocates to Dovenian ports.  They pay their dues for staying two days and buy supplies before sailing along the coast heading westward.

Teleri trade companies begin to expand their operations across Devewin, and many merchant vessels begin to form groups or attach themselves to Burellian convoys; in both cases ships make efforts to avoid carrying the same cargoes as their neighbors, except by prior arrangement.  Ships also head to the isles to the southeast where locals have not proven averse to trade.

Okay.  Here is the basic rundown news for now.  I will give more detailed news later.

  • The Tacz nations are torn into three pieces, one annexed by the UEK, one held as a protectorate to the UEK, and one held as a puppet state to Kyrev.
  • Noaste remains a puppet state to Kyrev.
  • In Vlast's expansion, they have successfully been able to claim a good amount of land, but as they went eastward, they ran into a region of relatively more advanced natives, who simply said "Please don't settle any further" named the Genera.  Additionally, when trying to expand westward, they have run into a small confederation of peoples that also said "Please don't settle any further," though slightly more aggressively.  (More details on NPC stuff later.)
  • Burellis has surveyed the land to its East up until the isthmus, and has decided to claim it as a colony, but doe to the relatively high amount of natives in the area, it only mentions that it plans to annex this region later on to some of its closer partners.  The natives know nearly nothing of the colonial claim, and in the mean time, they are allowed to do what they please.
  • Astura has successfully been founded.
  • Kansakoya needs to either start with different land or make an agreement with Espovon and have them clear it, because Espovon had already claimed that land.

The UEK suggests that east and west Taczowa have open borders with each other.

Word reaches the government that a new confederation has formed. Right below the UEK.

A diplomat is sent to Genera to propose a trade agreement, and to otherwise improve relations with the two nations.

Twenty five regiments descend upon the small Confederation to the west of Vlast, along side four cavalry troops, three heavy cavalry troops, and ten howitzer batteries.

Stories blown grossly out of proportion circulate throughout the newspapers, media outlets more concerned with sales than truth. At least two or three thousand men register to go to war in the first week.

I would prefer to keep this conflict in a strictly strategic viewpoint. No battles plz.

Genera hesitantly agrees, seeing what has happened with the Obalei and its allies.

The Obalei by the way respond to the UEK by saying "Sorry, we don't want to talk with you now.  Not yet."

Kansakoya needs to either start with different land or make an agreement with Espovon and have them clear it, because Espovon had already claimed that land.
The Kansæ were not aware of its ownership, due to not having clearly drawn borders on the map, the people had came there and encountered a tribal people which intermixed over the years, although the Kansæ crave succession, they start by asking Espovon for less government control over the island. As they have became a mandate of Espovon

Kyrev requests a trade agreement with Genera as well.

Additionally, a businessman in Kyrev patents the water frame and implements it into a textile factory in a small town in mid Kyrev, called Verden. It drastically reduces the amount of skill it takes for a worker to operate textile machinery. Time will tell what kind of impact this will have on the textile market.
