if so, youtube might be whitelisted

Or if you're feeling adventurous you could try switching to uBlock which blocks more ads than Ad-Block and has higher performance. Otherwise it sounds like you've whitelisted YouTube or perhaps one of sister domains that deliver the ads?

I personally recommend Adblock Plus. It supports a sustainable advertising environment by only allowing non-intrusive ads that follow their strict guidelines (ex: See how Reddit places their ads). Without a guideline for acceptable ads, advertising will only become more and more aggressive to milk money out of the people who don't know how to use an ad blocker.
