Just to know exactly what the crowd wants, and even though I understand that most of you play Pecon's Boss Battles, I want to know two things from all of those who look at this thread:
  • What is one thing that you (and just you) expect from a Boss Battles server?
  • What is one thing that you like from any Boss Battles server?

Edit: I'll post what I expect and what I like.

  • What I expect: awesome bosses, awesome weapons, and a decent challenge. Plus vehicles and stuff.
  • What I like: Self-coded bosses, different/diverse maps, and a handful of actually good players.

Remove Medics in favor of Health pickups.
Don't make the boss too small and impossible to hit, it should be around 1.5 in player scale.
You aren't fighting Sonic, tone the speed down if players have trouble hitting the boss.
The boss should not be able to kill people in one hit.
Do not have a "store"
Auto kill players staying in the spawn
If you're going to have a slow moving class give it an extra movement option.
TEAM WORK SHOULD BE A WINNING STRATEGY

For the love of god, think of the balance between classes

1) Not just this, but don't give special classes to donators or admins. This encourages unbalanced play.

A ingame currency anyone can earn to pay for temporary or permanent meaningless stuff is fine.

But stuff like classes locked off on a real money pay wall or being on the admin team is a huge no-no unless the only difference is cosmetics.

2) Also, make sure the builds you use are also as balanced as the classes. Make sure every boss class and not-boss class can maneuver around the map easily regardless of what class they use. '

3) Add at least some bosses that require skill to use. It makes playing a boss fun (even if you're still learning the ropes of said boss) because of how unique it is. (This is probably more a personal opinion than a serious suggestion)

4) Add some way for the minigame to ignore AFK players during the round so spawncamping won't be an issue.

5) Don't add music that is loud and/or obnoxious, if you have music that plays during the round.

6) Give powerful weapons to bosses. However, don't give bosses OP weapons.

7) Really, don't give bosses OP as stuff weapons.

8) I'm serious, don't loving do it.

9) Make the server something that you like and enjoy, and if it ever stops becoming fun to host, you're doing something wrong.

Bonuses was most definitely the wrong word.

I meant stuff like trails or sparkly butterflies (not really that stuff but you get the gist).

Debatable, but this ain't the Drama Forum even if I don't see the point in banning an annoying class, since it can be an advantage.

Boss Models would definitely be good, but can be an issue at times if you fill up the datablock too much. Otherwise, that's a thing to consider.

Lot of crap to cover, but will address in the order given:

Health pickups can be abusive without the right events, but a good notion than an expendable player.
Boss sizes can be overrated when it comes to guns and aiming, unless you fill loadouts with wooden planks.
Speed can act as both an advantage and a disadvantage, especially in a physics based game.
One-hit KOs can be unfair. It's just that...yeah forget it, it's definitely unfair.
Define your version of a 'store', because it can mean a lot of different store mechanics.
Auto spawn killers are a must for idle and nooby players alike.
Slow moving characters can just be a base for heavy weaponry. Nobody likes a fast player with a Mini-Nuke.  
And sadly, there seems to be a very short supply of teamwork from where I stand in a Boss Battles server, since people 'done goof'.

Always a large consideration.

You can always do something like Players get HP but Bosses can get Buffs from it.

In that case, make the buffs with their own downsides, as it can unbalance gameplay. As for the normals, make sure HP gains aren't very strong to fully heal them, though on the flip side of that, it could be a very annoying/useful tactic for gameplay.
