Author Topic: Do you believe in any kind of afterlife?  (Read 12676 times)

The way I think of this, Either
1. You go to Heaven or Hell (dunno for how long)
2. Go to Heaven for a limited time, to then be reincarnated
(who you'll be depends on how you acted in your past life)

Silly Junel, he was reffering to the plastic.
plastic is made from oil

Yeah lol.
The only commercial product made from dinosaurs are molds of the bones for museum exhibits or tacky giftshop tat.

Storytime :cookieMonster:

A lot of people used to (and some probably still do) remember my earlier days as a national socialist-esque, atheist-hating, ignorant, storm preaching troll (XR_7 account). As a Christian, I deeply hate that now non-existent side of me because I never should've done that, even though I thought what I was doing was right. Today, I still like to try to defend my faith where defense is due and relevant, mainly because I'm called to do that as a Christian and because I find that my faith is far more believable than anything else (and atheism takes faith, regardless of how anyone tries to argue it).

I believe that the afterlife only has two ways: heaven or hell. The final destination is almost entirely chosen by the person. They can either believe and accept the Gospel and go to heaven, or they can deny it and go to hell. That's putting it quite bluntly though, because God sincerely wants all his creations in his likeness to live in paradise with Him. Christians are called to spread the word to unbelievers in order to bring them back to their intended home. Yeah, immature kids and "intellectual" (heavy quote emphasis) adults may laugh at evangelists because many of them sound silly to be preaching about something they (the unbelievers) don't believe, but it's a really selfless act of love whether that's recognized or not.

Most people who have similar dispositions to me probably are in fact atheists. I rely heavily on physical things that can be witnessed, proven, or contemplated. There is so much ample proof of the Bible being believable however that it is of no doubt to me whether to choose the atheist road or the Christian road. That's an entirely different story and way off topic though.

I believe in somewhat of an afterlife where your soul just kinda lingers in the universe.
I really hope this is true and that i could choose when or if I can be reincarnated. I am agnostic to religions though.

Oh, and has anyone else fallen asleep and forgot you existed? Like you wake up and forget who you are what life is and it loving freaks you out?
i imagine nothing as darkness, except you're not there to see it
it feels like this

but how can the darkness be real if our eyes are no longer real

yes

usually after really stuffty naps or sleeping after being awake for more than 24 hours

This isn't some cut n' dry thing for a lot of people. I really think you should put a "I'm not sure" option in the poll.

I'm definitely a Deist, which means I believe that there is some form of higher being, but it doesn't coincide with modern religion, which I believe in general to be mostly hoax-y. I could go on about explaining this and whatnot but basically my belief is I have no loving idea if there's an afterlife but I sure as hell hope that I still get to do stuff after I die, like, even if I just get reborn into another person or a different intelligent species with no recollection of my previous life. I think anything besides going away forever would be ideal for me, because I absolutely hate the idea of going away forever. I do however particularly like the idea of extraordinarily bad people going to a place where they get tortured for infinity. I'm not talking your average petty thief here, I'm talking like serial rapists, child molesters, Flash Mobers, stuff like that. Perhaps I'm somewhat of a bad person for that? I have no idea.

Either way, hey, OP, put an "I don't know" option into the poll.

OP is currently asleep in his bed. Sorry. :(

I can just tell him, lol. And I'm sure he'll look in this topic in the morning.

IMO anyone going to (a fictional btw) hell is terrible. nobody deserves torture-- once they are dead they can't do anything wrong, so just let it be. forgive them.

i find it pretty repugnant to threaten someone with eternal torture for anything. especially if it is just a personal belief, like don't be gay or follow my god.
