Author Topic: I need help finding a computer to buy.  (Read 1105 times)

I am looking for a gaming laptop/desktop within $1200.  Maybe 13 if its absolutely worth it.
Can you guys please help me out?

I dunno if I can build one.  I might go for a laptop for portability but I am open to desktops as well.)

It's pretty much all there is to say. Laptops are way more expensive than desktops, I'd only get one if you travel a lot. Building a computer is really easy, all it is screwing things in and connecting wires even a little kid could do it. The only way you could break it is if you're careless with the parts. There's a lot of nerds around the forums, they can help you out with a build if you want.

Also rule of thumb, never get a prebuilt desktop for gaming. They're either ridiculously underpowered or ridiculously overpriced, sometimes both.

If you're going for a laptop I'd say the lenovo y50 or y40. As I said many times I've heard many good things about them and they're a good price too.

But if I build one the parts will build up and easily go overbudget.

not if you know what parts you're getting before you start buying

it'll ideally end up being cheaper for the same/better quality/ability/drugs but it's your choice

I've never heard of someone building a laptop before. Like, piece by piece, as you would a desktop.

please be useful now
