Author Topic: found one of the stupidest music videos on youtube ('Call the Cops')  (Read 1219 times)

Bingo, this is the cycle.
Yep yep, yes sir. People are too uneducated and too stubborn to actually do any proper research on just about anything. There is a reason the police have armored cars, heavier body armor, ARs, etc. People look at that stuff and cry police militarization without even knowing what 90% of stuff is even for or why they really have it.

They look at an AR15, they cry machine gun that can mow down a thousand babies in one trigger pull to oppress people. The real reason was because of the 1998 north Hollywood shootout when two bank robbers had home made body armor and full auto AKs, G3s, and AR types rifles and this was during the assault weapon ban mind you. Only swat had access to ARs at the time, all the police had were semi-auto handguns, maybe a revolver if they were older, and a shotgun. All of which were useless in stopping those two guys.

Body armor? Response to the same issue and also the fact that the number of people who want to kill police has gone up over the years.

Camo? Blame the fact that no one wants to make blue uniforms any more.

Police departments now all of the saddening buying all this stuff? Blame the War on Terror and the liberal handing out of grants by our federal government. There are some PDs that will never need an APC or an MRAP, but there are plenty that might like LAPD in the Heavy gang parts of town as well as Detroit PD, Stockton pd, Oakland pd, etc.

Riot Gear? Blame the selfish people who are willing to destroy a half a city block to get a television. Or the people waiving che flags and smashing the windows of banks, and the people setting fire to cars and yelling "forget the government".

There is police brutality and racism, but the media makes it worse. Remember the SARS epidemic and how media said it was the worst epidemic every? I don't remember seeing land fills of dead sick people. Remember bird flu? I don't remember large quarantine zones. Swine flu? I don't remember there being a large death toll here on that either. Ebola, remember that? Bath Salts? That must have been the worst epidemic, am I right? I remember all the panic it created. Point is, the media likes drama. More drama means more entertainment, more entertainment means they have a product, when they have a product they can try produce it more and create more views. Fox, CNN, NY Times, they don't care about you, me, or racism. It's all about doing what it takes to get views for the all mighty green back.

You will catch more flies with sugar than you will with salt. Even Martin Luther King Jr said you have fight darkness with light and hate with love. Fighting police brutality with acts of violence and hate speech is just fighting darkness and hate with darkness and hate. Getting a proper education in law enforcement, going on ride alongs, peacefully demonstrating and writing to your politicians is the way to do it. Not slacktivism and not Violence.

that song is literally just targeting the cops who do bad things.

there are good cops too, you know.

*generic hood trash kills cop*
"Yeah, forget the pigs! Down with the jack booted thugs"
*hood trash proceeds to mug*
"Wtf government, Y u no protect me!"
Because black people are, on average, much poorer and (as a result) more likely to commit crimes, this kind of bad outlook on the police is kind of inevitable in those communities. Though, what needs to stop is the excessive use of force in minority neighborhoods, especially by officers who know that there's basically no system in place that would hold them responsible for maybe beating that minority criminal a little harder than a white criminal.

we still have a handful of scum officers too
Yeah, though they obviously arent as talked about here as they are over in the US

Notice that most officers are American...

well nah tho

the song's lyrics are not "don't call the cops, don't dial that number, cus they gonna roll up and kill your family. just don't dial those numbers don't do it don't dial em ever don't dial em 911 never don't do it you gonna d i e"

the title of the song is not what the song is about. the song is against police brutality and profiling, which is a whole other argument. "this is what happens when you call the cops" is just a lyric, it's not the synopsis of the song.

seriously just listen to the whole thing before makin the topic

Just go to belgium
We don't have cops B)
well we do but there nearly isn't any crime
We only have the stuffty APCOA who fine you after 10 seconds your parking ticket expires.

(one part actually shows a woman running before getting tazed, which i believe can be justified since she was running from the loving police)
List of things he could've done
-Told her to stop (Idk if he did because the video is age restricted.)
-Chase her, he has legs god damnit.
-The woman was probably scared to death because he was probably gonna do something, like taze her no matter what or shoot her.

So yeah, there we go.

Well socio-economics is tied heavily with crime. With gangs for example you might have a mom out working every day to support her family, dad left the family a weeks after his first son's was born. You have kid who doesn't she his mom often, he doesn't really have anyone there to give him the motivation for school, people pick on him.  Then one day said kid is approached by a kid of similar social status and says they him protect him if joins them. The gang basically fills in the parental and family void that some one these kids never had. They were petty much programed on gang culture at an early and this culture consists of various things like what music to listen to, what color clothes to wear, what colors to wear, how to act around people and around the leader, what to do, etc. They have some thing they can relate to and that is how they grew up, similar race and ethnicity/nationality, similar neighborhoods, etc. It is pretty hard to replace that structure, we have after school programs although no kid want to hang around school when they can be off doing something they consider fun with their group. Nor would they want to even visits a community center, nor do many people know what services their community offers.

Thieves are definitely influenced by being in lower status. There are rich people who steal things, but they usually steal things of extremely large value like company profits earned. However the common thief could be someone who doesn't have much, and nor can they really afford to have those things. Some of them are profiteers, they like to steal things to sell them on the local black market in exchange for money which is usually spent on things like drugs and alcohol. Others are thrill seekers, they might be a bored kid trying to steal a candy bar from a market for the first time, some are also addicted to burglarizing property and taking things like tools, copper wire, tvs, furniture. The burglar usually avoids contact with people, however there are some who willing to resort to violence or break into homes at night while people are asleep.

The police on the other hand believe something in what is called the thin blue line. Many of them see themselves at as the sole enforcer of authority, the ones who keep the criminal world out of the normal world, so they develop a sense of us vs them or  us vs the community. There are someone system to keep them in check like internal affairs which is the police for the police, body cams which are pretty expensive, dash cams which can find almost anywhere. The same courts that prosecute criminals also prosecute corrupt police officers. Most people can get a reduced sentence, bad officers do not: they get the maximum time sentenced to them because they should have known better. The IRS and FBI might also crack down on corrupt police, but that is for different reasons, most of the work is done through internal affairs. A lot of your bad officers aren't like the tv and movie versions, there are plenty out there who just made on wrong decision and they pay for it deeply.

Definitely invest into community policing, it benefits everyone in the long run.

"Waaaaaah! I can't do illegal acts without getting into legal trouble!"

these are not doughnuts

they're timbits you idiot
im not the one who posted it i just found it on imgur lol

List of things he could've done
-Told her to stop (Idk if he did because the video is age restricted.) He most likely did that before, and if you're running away from a crime you're most likely not gonna be like "oh okay sorry" the moment a cop tells you to stop. (you can't even see if he did talk or not, nor can you hear because the clip has absolutely no audio other than the song)
-Chase her, he has legs god damnit. There was most likely other people on scene he has to deal with, he can't just leave them there like that while back up is coming or isn't even there yet. (Since there doesn't seem to be another cruiser in sight, though it can't really be told)
-The woman was probably scared to death because he was probably gonna do something, like taze her no matter what or shoot her. This is a really far stretch, the woman did look like she was trying to run away, but even the officer probably knows he's walking right onfront of his own camera.

So yeah, there we go.

i have listened to the whole thing

the average person probably won't actually look into the song and actuall try to get what it means other than "cop = bad", especially with events going on like this
