How about old Blockland installers? Like v.20 to v.8
I knew a few people who use those old installers still just to play on maps and terrain.
Not really addons but its hard to obtain to I thought I'd bring it up on the subject of difficulty

i take it from these 6 pages that img2brick isn't actually an addon
I've released a version that uses python and it seemed that no one cared.

Also I'd say any of the short codes in my base folder.
I really should release some of them.

Advances VCE / Advanced Holograms

Brick ownership mods, that tell whos bricks you are hovering over.

There is a such thing as legitimate private add-ons; developers who make their own stuff and keep it to themselves for numerous reasons, which I've done: very niche things specific to a build (an event that spawns bots at minimum size that wander within a few bricks of the spawn), things that aren't user friendly at all, things that most people would find annoying (a chatbox that learns from chat, which although it makes some funny randomly generated sentences, it's still a chatbot which many people hate), things made out of boredom/practice with little practical application (a REST API framework for Blockland? Neat, but what would a blockland server need a REST API for?)

But most "private" add-ons that people discuss are things that were once publically released, and then either failbinned, or the link/hosting service hosted on died.
And then people refuse to give out the link because they
think it's something to gloat over

This:

wasn't this on bushido's "knightmare" server a long time ago
he's used it several times iirc. one time we were on his server just testing his gokart addon and he transformed into that and started slashing racers off the track

I've made an add-on form of img2brick that supports color, all you need to do is put the image in a folder (config preferably), set the path to it, and you can load your image. No external sites or programs.

However, it is hideously slow, i'm sure it could be made better.

Brick tesselation :)
Almost forgot I had it
You should totally release that.

You should totally release that.
It still needs like 20 lines of code to be finished.
