Author Topic: Today is the 20th Anniversary of the Oklahoma City Bombing  (Read 939 times)

So tomorrow is the 20th anniversary of the Oklahoma City Bombing. (The largest terrorist attack in history prior to 9/11) In the attacks, over 800 people were injured or killed. The blast destroyed or severely damaged over 300 buildings in downtown Oklahoma City, and caused an estimated $700 million dollars worth of damage. Living in Oklahoma City, that's pretty surprising.

The Oklahoma city bombing was a response to the raid on the Branch Davidian's compound and Ruby Ridge Incident.

The Waco siege was a mess. This failed musician called him self jesus and ran church compound stocked full of guns. He had people from all over the world join his church and live there. He was a mad man. However he decided to take on the police and hide in his fortress. In response the national guard loaned the police a few tanks, APCs, and ifvs. One them was used to launch a tear gas round into a building in hopes of drawing them out to surrender. However the canister set fire to a rug which cooked off all the ammo and killed David and bunch of women and children hiding inside of the building.

People reacted to this image and thought of the US as bunch of anti-Christian national socialists. I have no sympathy for David, however Timothy saw this as another thing to add to his long list of reasons to hate the US gov. If you read up on him, he was a crazy dude.

OK Guy is a hometown hero. I went to the same high school as he did.

And the land we belong to is gran-OH JESUS CHRIST

yes I am in that kind of state where no one will reveal it secret for no reason.

I thought the Branch Dividians did that to themselves?

i remember seeing this really good documentary type of thing (i can't even remember the name of it though) and it showed footage of a couple fires breaking out at about the same time after the canisters went in, but the fires were spread out and in different parts of the compound

The fires from what I remember were caused by the tear gas canisters since those casings get really hot after spraying their aerosol and can cause fire.

Some people believe the armored vehicles had flame throwers, but I think they are just crazy. There are some vehicles that had flame throwers in the cold war like the M162 and the M67, but those were retired somewhere in the 80s.
