Introduction
I figured since blocklanders are growing up with many of us being 16+ its time for a megathread to help influence the shaving habits of the male forumers. I have been always been fascinated by shaving and the art of maintaining a beard and I hope that this thread is well received because this is a topic I'm passionate about

Why grow a beard???
1. Like it or not bitches dig beards
2. It adds a sense of maturity even if you have the maturity level of a 10 year old(me)
3. Beards if maintained well add a whole new level to your appearance

The Art Of Shaving
There are a few small steps you can take to guarantee an amazing shave every time
Heat:The first step in a perfect shave should always be to apply heat to the skin, usually done through a hot towel wrapped around the face or a hot shower. This opens the pores and helps lift the hair follicle up and off the surface of the face making for a MUCH more comfortable shave.
Preshave Oil: This step is more optional then the rest of the steps due to the fact that most men don't have pre shave oil on hand. Pre shave oil is a fantastic tool when it comes to the morning shave, It applies lubricant to the face which allows the blade to slide along the skin with relative ease! It also applies slight moisture to the face which is another key component of a great shave.
Lather: The third(second) step is lathering up. Most american males use aerosol shaving gels by companies such as gillette and I must say DO NOT USE AEROSOL SHAVING PRODUCTS!! They dry out the skin and make for a more irritating shave.
Shaving brushes are an EXCELLENT investment for those interesting in facial hair. They allow you to build a lather using soaps/creams then work it into your hair which raises the hair off the face making the razors job easier. They also tend to be less harsh on people with sensitive skin!
The Shave:The best way to assure you have a comfortable shave is always make sure the skin is pulled taut, this makes sure there is minimal damage to the skin.
Aftershave:Shaving exfoliates the skin and the best thing to do after a close shave is a cold towel(to close the pores) followed by Alcohol free aftershave/balm. This will soothe the skin and make for a MUCH more enjoyable experience

I still have to add in the other steps but as I said i want to get a new strop for my razor so I can post pictures for the different types of equipment lol

Plus this might be a huge waste of time if the forums doesn't give a forget in which case *shrug

i either have a 5 o clock or i have nothing

I use Col. Conk shaving soap (currently using an aloe one because boy howdy does it feel smooth) with a badger hair brush, hot towel, and replaceable blade razor.  Hella smooth shave when I care about making it smooth.

Also use an electronic beard trimmer because I need to.  Have the "short boxed beard" style.

Go on because i have to start shaving

I have to use lotion on my face after shaving because it gets so dry after. I also shave 6 days a week so that can't be healthy for my skin.

I use the fusion proglide styler for shaving. Its a small trimmer for touching up sideburns, etc. but you can attach a standard proglide head to it and use it to shave too

I'm Mexican and Brasilian so by law I'm not allowed to have facial hair.

I want to grow a beard so bad but still nothing, and I'm almost 18 :c

I'm growing a long red beard + sideburns. But my mustache is thin :c

Okay I finished the actual steps and will add the equipment later!
