Author Topic: Blockland Forums makes a school project (make your own app)  (Read 1185 times)

State the current problem or issue you will fix / help: Irrelevant information in classes and logic gaps so wide you could fit a whale inside.

Explain in detail how the app will meet this goal: The app provides extremely streamlined and unique explanations for all the content provided in Primary and Secondary education courses. Students can enroll not just for classes they're taking, but also subjects they're interested in learning that aren't covered by their school or that they aren't allowed to do.

Each class has a number of small "Chunks". Each chunk covers one specific and important topic. For each topic, the app gives you information on WHO needs the content, WHERE it came from (who came up with the info in the first place), WHAT the content is, WHY it matters and HOW it works. Mostly importantly, it conveys all this information in under 500 - 1000 words (not sure of a good upper limit), includes narration, images, diagrams and charts and also has a "Resources" section with links to relevant resources including articles, YouTube videos and more.

The app also included a (moderated) comment section for each chunk so that students can discuss the information and any important facts they found.

Lastly, the app includes something called "Mindmap". Mindmap is basically a big picture with lots of circles that have line connections to each other. Mindmap shows you how each different chunk connects not just to other chunks from the same class, but also to lessons from other classes. Students can actually visually see what they need to understand in order to learn something they want to learn. Chunks they've enrolled for/already seen are coloured different to those they haven't. You can press on any circle to teleport to that chunk and read the info on it.

Explain the Privacy Policy Age requirement, fees, who can see information on the app, how is personal information shared: There is no minimum or maximum age as this is an education product, but the comment section can be hidden using the Parental Lock feature. No personal information is shared or required, although you are required to supply a username to talk in the comment section. Email verification may be required in the future depending on how many accounts are registering.

Make a clever name for it: MindTrap

What are the special features?: The Mindmap feature which gives people a clear sense of how all information is laid out and connected. There is a notes and drawing section so that users can add their own personal comments for reference, and users can also highlight information on any chunk.

I'm here now
Anyway, the MindTrap and YouSave are both very cool ideas, I'm gonna have trouble choosing one. I'm considering putting up a poll, maybe.
