Author Topic: Why are GameCube games so expensive?  (Read 3596 times)

Im looking to buy Mario Kart: Double Dash (remember, a game that came out in 2004ish) and naturally since its nearly 11 years old, I think the price would decrease enough so I could actually buy it, but then I see this:

Why havent prices of GameCube games gone down like at all? They were nearly $60 or $40 when new, and the price has only gone down like $10!

I would think it is because they are rare nowadays, so you're not going to get your hands on a copy without forking over a hefty amount of money.

what site is that? use amazon or ebay, they have it for $30, along with alot of other good gc games

Because GameCube Master Race.

Because GameCube Masterrace.
uh hell yeah GameCube is better than loving Call of Duty any day

LukieGames, which sells alot of systems for cheap, so I assumed GameCube games would be cheap.
http://www.lukiegames.com/

i always buy the 'very good' or 'good' used games on amazon, way cheaper

I still own my copy c:

exact same game with an extra demo disc on a site that isn't stupid
dude, i have that version
i think the demo disc also had some bonus stuff for the first fire emblem on gba but i never figured out what it unlocked

My guess is supply vs demand.
The GameCube was the lowest selling console in the 6 generation (excluding the dreamcast), so the supply of games is nowhere near as plentiful as say the PS2. Also there's probably more people into the GC now than there were when it came out.
You can find some good deals looking in the Used section of games in amazon, ebay, or maybe even a thrift store or a garage sale.

My brother gave me Double Dash a couple of weeks ago, actually. Played it a bit.
Try looking on Amazon, you should find a good deal there.

You're buying from a stuffty website that adds artificial inflation to prices because they know idiots will buy it.

wii games also

metroid prime trilogy
xenoblade
last story
pokepark 2
FE radiant dawn

Just get them digitally when you can, the prices result from goofy physical rarity.

I've usually found GCN games to be cheaper retail, but it really just depends on where you're buying it from
