Author Topic: transparent iron sights  (Read 8023 times)

Hello, its me again. I wanted to know how do you do a transparent sight (red dot). Gravity Cat did this with his P90, it had a green glow to it, like a flare. And I want to do this sort of thing. If there is a tutorial, please leave a link.

Picture: (sorry for small picture, I'm lazy right now)

Gravity cat used a texture Blender or Milkshape?
If its Blender make a Material for the sight and only use it for thhe sight (All other objects using this will be Transparent) Then select your scope and tab into edit mode and create a plane adjust it to fit your scope and assign the material to it. Now when you export find the materials tab and select the same material as the scope and click Translucent and export, I have know idea about the dot but I will find out rlly quick

your welcome

Also you can draw a dot and give it a texture, say 'reddot.png' and in export settings, you can change the texture option to 'glow'. Milkshape has that function when you're exporting torque dts pro, dont know about blender.
