Author Topic: Commemorating the life of Thorfin25  (Read 42040 times)

I never had the chance to get to know thorfin on a personal level but I always had a great time cracking jokes with him ingame. This is truly an awful loss for the community.
I'm sorry...

stuff, man. didnt know him much but i did work w/ him on the GTA project.
damn.

I may sound like an starfish, but taking a permanent solution to solve a temporary problem isn't worth it.

Man this is devastating. I've seen him a number of times in game as well as on the forum. He was a pretty funny guy in a sarcastic or satirical way, although he could be a pretty insensitive inappropriate idiot too. Really sad to see this, RIP.

Looking at his sig, maybe he wouldn't have done this had Badspot followed his word with the tophat and monocle. I'm sorry, lightening mood :(

Hi, I'm Sampi. I dont quite think i knew Thor on a personal enough level to call him a "close" friend but we definitely shared some laughs. Thor was an amazing person. He always seemed to know what to do and how to do it with humor. He was extremely skilled with words, code, building, and was one of the most experienced people ive ever met. Thor, no matter who was on the server, always made it fun. He, a player named Xdere and I were commonly found on Glass' Island Fortwars up untill a few months ago when the owner gave up on the server. Honestly, that server with the presence of those other two players always made me happy. I don't joke when i say i am diagnosed with clinical depression, but every time i logged on they both had a way of making me smile. whether it was building an impenetrable volcano base or continually Annoying Orangeing Scotty_Diam's crappy pilot skills, we always had a good time. I know its not much, but heres a picture of me, him, Xdere, & stratofortress when we found an interesting bug in Strat's coding. R.I.P. Thor, I'll miss you man <3

Dude was a huge help in Coding Help. Most people don't really get to know the community there but it's obviously much smaller so you always see the same faces (or, I guess, avatars) around. It's a shame that his won't be there anymore.

I am only one out of the many people that came to know Thorfin as a close friend and companion. Although I only knew him for a relatively short period of time compared to some, I came to see him in the same light that I do my closest friends, there was a time in which we hardly went a day without skyping for any less than 6 hours we talked about everything from how stuffty our day at work was, to how we could improve Blockland. I learned a lot from Thorfin, and he was always willing to help others if they were willing to learn, it is well known that he spent the majority of his time on the forums help section, instructing and walking people through both the mundane and the complex. My only regret is not getting to know Thorfin better, and not recognizing his depression sooner. My fondest memories of Thorfin are ones of mischievous terrorism, such as sailing across the sky in a flying speedboat with a SAM turret hanging off the back end, blasting any imposing f-18 out of the sky.
He was a friend, a teacher, a partner in crime, and he most certainly be missed dearly by all that came to know him.

Goodbye Thorfin, I will miss you greatly.

uh stuff
his last post
Sometimes I wish I didn't have so much of a life so I could bum around on servers like yours more often.

I've known Thorfin practically since I got the game, I am really hurt by this. I don't really know what to say other than I really miss him and he was a great friend, he was always there to talk to about anything and I really am going to miss him.

Everything I ever hosted was with the help of Thorfin, whether it be building, coding, administrating, everything. He was just amazing and he always liked to help.

Also Thorfin loved strippers.

Damn, that sucks. I never knew him myself, but a loss is a loss. RIP.

Dangit. I remember playing Crown's CRP with him. He made a pretty darn awesome house. :(

I'm sorry.

god this is horrible
I always remember seeing him post in coding help and mod threads and whatnot

RIP Thorfin25

At first I thought this was Thor moving on to greater things, probably getting his degree, but this, this is extremely over the limit.

Rest in peace, Thorfin. You will be missed dearly.
