What I'm concerned about is how long that remains true, given stuff like this and other things previously listed.

How does any of this stop gaming from being a hobby?

How does any of this stop gaming from being a hobby?
I suppose it does not stop individuals from enjoying it as a hobby, but I don't think video games should really evolve past something that's just a hobby or maybe something commentators do to make a little extra spending cash. I just mean the trend of extremities becoming more common.

Gaming as a hobby is the worst state, because it means there's no possibility for it to be taken as a serious art form. I can't wait until people stop thinking of games as toys and actually start seeing their deeper, more important impact on society.

Will you elaborate on this?

I understand some games whether it be a shooter like specops or games like Deus Ex and Fallout have some sort my feels moment or look on society, conspiracy, message, etc. But uh, I wouldn't go far to say that is there purpose.

I don't play Mario to feel bad about stepping on turtles or decode it as a message to save the turtles.

Is there are time and place where story, gameplay, and hidden meaning can blend, I think so. However I think you are taking a bit far with that statement. Like not every game can be Hideo Kojima or Metal Gear Solid.

you're stupid

I really hope fnaf 4 doesn't get released and they don't do a movie so fnaf can die faster

One thing for sure, a lot of these indie titles are a cash grab. Either to be bad as possible and to achieve meme status and be milked.

Minecraft is a great example of this. It used to be a actually genuinely good game (unlike FNaF) until 12 year olds found out about the game and now its just a huge milked money grab.

i havent even played the first fnaf.. isn't it just a bunch of jump scares? like how do people get this obsessed with a game like this

Some people have different tastes than you.
Also, you only get jumpscared if you lose the game
except in 3
