Author Topic: What instruments do you play?  (Read 5581 times)

I've been playing the drums for 5+ years.

Okay it is uploaded:
White Stripes:Seven nation army
Played on quads and base drums, read description for more as to why it sounded a little off beat
And this is a huge WIP so I will upload the final product whbe the instructor gets back (there was a sub)
Sorry the base part that I played was so short, some idiot trying to be funny yelled my name during filming to be funny, I had to clip it out

Not sure if its "music" per say. I just like to sit in my room and make cool noises with my waterphone

I also play the Stylophone.

I used to play oboe, and am trying to learn guitar.

Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Electric Bass, Drums, soon Acoustic Bass [yes there is a difference between acoustic and electric] and hopefully keyboard. Mostly make rock stuff with a cheap recorder and mix the tracks together.

You can play the Acoustic Bass in the shower.

I may buy a keyboard to start piano for a little thing but I dunno.

Isn't this bass called "Double Bass"?
Upright Bass, Double Bass, Contrabass

All the same thing.

"Upright" is more of a jazz and pop term.
"Double" and "Contra-" are both more orchestral and ensemble terms.

I can kinda play the banjo and the recorder reasonably decently.  I also know some really basic harmonica tunes, like three guitar chords, and a few simple tunes on keyboards.  I own a violin but I can't really play it.

It's funny how I'm such a proficient composer, yet I'm a pretty terrible musician.

It's not a surprise.  Creation and interpretation are two very different things.  As a composer, I can relate.
