So I don't watch boxing, can someone explain to my why this fight is so big?
It's been postponed line 3 times since 2008, when Mayweather was considered the best pound-for-pound boxer worldwide, with Pacquiao as the second. Mayweather retired for a bit after that fell through. People have been asking for this every time either won had a big win, but the negotiations have been rocky every time thanks to every variety of issues possible. It was only some time late last year that they finally got on the right track to getting the fight approved, and it wasn't until about a month ago that everything really finalised.

Mayweather has basically lessened Pacquiao's achievements before, saying that his wins were nothing compared to his own.
