Author Topic: Unstable Blockland  (Read 2071 times)

So recently after i guess an update my blockland has been unstable. The update or whatever has negatively affected MODter bricks, which is what 90% of my maps are built out of. If the MODter brick count perceeds like a high thousand bricks, it will crash players, but not me. It never did this until recently, and it pisses me off because i just finished a map with out realizing this, that and 90% of my maps are now un-usable.

Any of you guys have this problem?

Is there a solution?

So recently after i guess an update

Um what. The last update was a while ago. Are you using Greek2Me's auto-updater? It's included with Slayer (for some completely unnecessary reason)

Yes i am using his updater

it's included to keep slayer updated lol

Modter usually creates tiny lag due to how much resource it takes on the server, the more modter, the laggier it will get when cleared.

Not just Slayer, but any add-on that uses Greek2Me's repository. Someone could upload a supposed "update" and it have broken or backdoor code without the user's immediate knowledge.

I believe this person may have "updated" an add-on and the broken code is effecting his server. If you could post a console.log that would be great.

Any add-on could easily have it's own updating system, that doesn't really matter. Having a centralized place for updates is just more user friendly.

I understand this, all I'm trying to say is that this user's problem could very well be from a supposed "updated" add-on.

Since the last update for Blockland was January 16th, I would imagine the only update he could be talking about is through Slayer's Auto Updater, although we still can't determine much more without a console.log

Here it is, check it out.

Try updating your graphics driver.

Try updating your graphics driver.
i do that on a monthly basis (Checking for updates and updating) But ill check agian.

Drivers are up to date, what else you got?

Thanks for the console.log Ctooper, unfortunately I am unable to help with your issue unless you give me a console.log after you have hosted a server and replicated the error you are having.

I was gonna post a topic about this and i still might do. I'm having a similar problem. Whenever I host my dedicated server its fine. But when I load my map with ModTer, my blockland crashes and completely shuts down. I think everyone else disconnects. I tried using buildbot which worked (4800 freakin bricks... took a while!) but the events were'nt there because you have to copy and paste them, so i deleted the bricks with events, loaded the build and it crashed! It started only this week. I've deleted the new slayer and redownloaded the old one but nothings changed.

Same, i re installed BL the other day and no fix, even turned the auto updates off from slayer. How should we bring this to Eric hartman's attention? Because these needs to be fixed.
