So much so you can still get like Marie or Callie shirts in Miitomo (deemed dead by the forums I gather) and there is an upcoming update to Animal Crossing: New Leaf regarding the Marie and Callie Amiibos (?) along with a Splatoon themed town somewhere. I have a feeling this'll be a long Splatfest.
