What's up with updating Coalitions/Alliances?
I made an alliance with Texas and the US a while back, and my coalition with the other countries in South America has yet to be recognized.

After fighting along side the Prussians and witnessing their Needle guns, the Austria-Hungarian military realized the harsh reality that the era of the breech loading rifles was over.

A newer rifle for the front line infantry has been adopted, the M1867 Werndl–Holub which is a single shot breech loading rifle which uses a single piece 11.15×42mm metallic rim fire cartridge.

The old Lorenz rifles have been converted into the Wanzl single shot rifle capable of firing 14x33mm projectiles contained in one metallic rim fire cartridge. These will be used to supplement the military until enough Werndl-Holubs can be procured.

study of the werndl-holub/wanzl guns and the current dreyse needle gun reveals that the needle gun is unsuitable for metal cartridges

germany gives development funds to various german companies to develop a single shot, bolt action metal cartridge firing rifle with better accuracy, shorter reload times, more reliability and more general efficiency than the needle gun
