Author Topic: Americans choose Harriet Tubman to be on the $20 bill  (Read 48609 times)

Moreover, there are other bills. I can't think of another more symbolic woman, at least off of the top of my head, for the US

all right so you are just dumb
i guess i recall
why would i remember some dumb slave bitch from 200 years ago
even if this was a joke you're still a douche for saying it

I say we keep jackson

Darn what a pity.

Wait JFK is actually a good idea.

But she's more of a symbol. She stood for equality and freedom, which while I think ER did too, HT put her life on the line for it. It's debatable, but regardless HT is damn important.
Didn't Tubman help slaves escape in the underground railroad?  I mean, that's really admirable and all, but when you compare her to some who had the weight of nations on their shoulders in the name of activism, her symbol to America is seemingly minor.

didn't he like commit genocide

you know she was only a big part in abolishing slavery no biggie

you know she was only a big part in abolishing slavery no biggie
haha

I think you should sit this thread out, son

a lot of the presidents we've had in the past hundred years would be fine candidates if they were actually going to change it around
kennedy or reagan or FDR or uh... clinton and nixon
all right so you are just dumb
Sure, but correct me if I'm wrong, the only symbol of anti-slavery we use is Lincoln.

BESIDES, JUST BECAUSE TUBMAN WAS VOTED TO BE ON DOES NOT MEAN THAT OTHER PEOPLE CANT BE ON THE BILLS

like stuff maybe rosa parks would be ok or the little rock nine
they're not as ugly lmao

all the important women in the US government history weren't that pretty
eleanor roosevelt would be a good pick, maybe a famous suffragette

put Maxwell on the bill instead
it doesn't HAVE to be a woman, it can be a very gay man instead

goes to show some latent loveism that people object to harriet tubman on money cus she's not pretty, but totally cool to ol jefferson and jackson and other dudes cus they're important.

"it doesn't matter that they're not handsome, they're out forefathers, you idiot!"

"aight what about tubman"

"i dunno she's kinda weeeird"
