Author Topic: Americans choose Harriet Tubman to be on the $20 bill  (Read 48600 times)

i mean Sacajawea is on the gold dollar, it's obvious that our money is partly based on myth rather than just pure merit.
So what you're saying is that you should have Bigfoot on the money?

he was the one who saved us in WWI when the germans bombed pearl harbor!
was he there in 1942 when Columbus sailed the ocean blue.

i feel like, for something like money

the reward for being president is that you got to be the president. Tubman didn't get nominated to save slaves - she did it cus she wanted to. that's why we honor people like MLK - cus he did something against the grain, and put himself in danger. i'm not saying kennedy or roosevelt shouldn't be on money, but im saying they already are situated in history forever.

What are you talking about? You don't have to be a Presidential figure to be remembered.

gosh I didn't know you personally knew the first president of the united states

i guess he cared about it but he didnt want the abolition of slavery as much as abolitionists

there are other bills. unless that's what you meant, of course.
$1: Keep Washington
$2 ( keeping this because I think we should keep in circulation): Keep Jefferson
$5: Keep Lincoln
$10: FDR
$20: Eleanor Roosevelt
$50: Kennedy
$100: Keep Franklin

Coins:

Penny: Keep Lincoln
Dime: Eisenhower
Nickel: Teddy Roosevelt
Quarter: Keep Washington
Half-Dollar: JFK
Dollar: keep the yearly presidents

comparatively speaking, mlk is way more influential than tubman

the point

So what you're saying is that you should have Bigfoot on the money?

That's a bit slippery lol

i know! she did illegal things for the greater good and helped give FREEDOM to countless slaves. and again, she's more well known as a historical figure.again, there are other bills. unless that's what you meant, of course.
It really is funny how Lincoln actually stated that if he could do all that he did without freeing the slaves he would've.

oh yeah i forgot FDR was on the dime
stuff though teddy roosevelt should be on something. i'd gladly resurrect him

That's a bit slippery lol
I dunno.
Do you know how many American TV shows/cartoons/comics/books/movies/etc.. that have had stories based on people looking for Bigfoot?
He's clearly an important part of what America is today. Also, it's a joke. :)

i dont mind if they get a better picture, although i would prefer someone that was actually influential instead of some random slave that was used a glorified example in middle school
0 to 60, jesus christ.
So what you're saying is that you should have Bigfoot on the money?
come on dooble, try to be serious

bigfoot is obviously real

Flash forward thirty years, I guarantee you the $1, $5, $10 and $20 denominations will all have pictures of either MLK, Malcom X, Rosa Parks, Barack Obama and Harriet Tubman on them.

It really is funny how Lincoln actually stated that if he could do all that he did without freeing the slaves he would've.

Lincoln freed the slaves, not Tubman and that's what is important.

So what you're saying is that you should have Bigfoot on the money?
really though that would be forgetin cool if they put cryptids on money
i would save the stuff out of a coin with the dover demon on it
